Just watched view from stormont from the other night on itvx. Shirlow is some guy for trolling. He keeps repeating this gibberish that come border poll Alliance don't count so using his one eyed calculations nationalists need 51 out of every 85 votes in a referendum. That's 60% so not 50%+1. It's comical if it wasn't actually coming from an academic who produces polls that will be used to influence a SoS whether a border poll is needed or not. I don't understand why the likes of David McCann and Suzanne Breen co commentators on the panel just sit back and not challenge this garbage.

Not one blind bit of difference to waiting lists will they make in the HofC

Is the oath the main reason why the Shinners will not take their seats in Westminster?

No. They've been fairly consistent in saying that they can't say that they are opposed to British politicians have a say in Irish affairs while simultaneously, as Irish politicians, go over to sit in Westminster and involving themselves in the political affairs of people in Britain.

Would the resources and money then used to fight the seats for Westminster not be best used elsewhere?

So a political party ought not be spending its money on getting people elected? There's a new angle to the abstentionism debate, just when I'd thought it was the most repetitive debate on earth.

They still operate a full constituency service. They only thing they don't do is attend the chamber.

I can't be the only one who's bored of this abstentionistm "debate" every five years? Surely even SFs most ardent critics are tired of it at this stage and can see that they're getting absolutley nowhere with it?

I'm not saying they are wrong btw, Westminster has been a pointless entity for here since the State began, and continues to pay lip service to most if not all things.

What would the duties be in a fully operational constituency office?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Fixing potholes and getting swastika's painted over depending on your constituency.

If this is what MPs focus their energies on what do the MLAs and councillors, surely they all can not take credit for fixing potholes or getting roads surfaced.    Regardless if anything is actually done we are not short in terms of a governance structures in this country.

It's a lot easier to sing karaoke than to sing opera

Could this not happen after every election? Given it could just all be p!ssed of Tories voting. Wouldn't be hard to get the numbers after any election.

Only started a couple of days and there's 1.6 Million signatures
It's strange how this has grown legs and yet they were lied to about Brexit and none of them would dare mention it.

The very same "Revoke Article 50" poll achieved over 6 million signatures, not sure if that got the time of day either.

Breaking News: Conservative and Reform voters not happy with Labour in government. 38 million of the 48 million votes cast in the GE didn't go to labour so Keir has rightly laughed off this petition with a couple of million disgruntled voters from all across the globe
