Well I think the one thing that will come out of this uncertainty will be a freeze on investment and for me at the stage this is a good thing.
Zero point giving a manager more money who clearly will not be there in the even medium to longer term.

Feck there was one of the greatest freezes in investment by the Glaziers in Fergies last couple of years. His genius kept the club competitive and winning things.

Only panic buying ensued after the first six months of Moyes and continued since. Decent players are afraid to go to Utd at the moment.

From the former heights, the club is in trouble. But 4th is still attainable and the run away bunch at the top have not exactly ran away? And all the so called stable clubs such as Arsenal, City, Liverpool and Chelsea don't look it. Despite all the doom and gloom, Utd are only a good signing away from being a decent side.

Moyes panic bought 2 players who we didn't need. LVG has probably bought a few players who wouldn't be his first choice but when there is a huge overhaul of the squad this was always going to be the case.

LVG has left the squad in better shape then what he inherited and with a couple of good signings we should be challenging for the league, given the millions he's raked in from selling players there's a lot of money available for the next manager to get it right.

Hardly. He had to play Nick Powell against Wolfsburg, so much for Squad depth. No real pace in midfield when he took over, and he hasn't changed that.

He has wasted a lot of money,. The players Moyes bought played a big role in getting top 4 last season.

11 consecutive first halves without a goal, the lowest number of shots on target at home in the 4 divisions and not one win in December. That is stunning for the 3rd richest club in the world as measured by earnings. 600 million but sadly unable to put a soccer team together. Who woulda thunk they would be even worse than Liverpool, who at least have always maintained an aura of dignity.
Ah mon now, do you not remember the suits......and the Suarez t shirts?  ;D

Yeah, we also remember Eric's kung fu moment! And Roys for that matter on Haaland.  5/6 players chasing a referee down a pitch baying at him when decisions did not go their way. Club stud 100% behind them! That's clubs for ya! But hey we raked that one up 2/3 years ago! So lets not go any further with it!

So you're agreeing with Ballinaman then??

Yes, clubs will do what ever they have to to keep their star man happy, to get better results. Dignity is some thing that is bandied about but often more than not adhered to.

LVG is now on a match by match setup. It is nuts. Theatre of Dreams like.

If he offered his resignation they should have accepted it, the man is done like dinner.
Armagh, the one true love of a mans life.

You realise it could just as easily be said "don't believe everything the BBC says", yes?

I do, but I trust BBC Sport much more than the back page of the papers.

Do you have any evidence that he offered to resign, or that it wasn't the first time?

gallsman

Degenerates? The sports pages? Really? Sky are presumably a great bunch of lads in comparison?

That's exactly what the media do. They take a bit of smoke, and with a lot of inference, build a bonfire. I'm sure there's a grain of truth somewhere along the line, but there's no doubt papers embellish, exaggerate and sometimes downright fabricate stuff to sell papers/fill airtime.

Its all a big game and in fairness the clubs are often guilty of using the media to get their angle out there too, usually  the truth is there somewhere too if you look deep enough. I presume its the same with all clubs but there are 4/5 journalists with a decent inside track and when reading the myriad shite that's reported about United every day I'll look to see has it come from any of these guys or have they retweeted a story or added to it.

For what its worth all the weekend speculation over LVGs third offer to resign comes from one story by Jamie Jackson who certainly wouldn't be on my list of guys I'd be hanging on their every word, now if Daniel Taylor from the same paper had written the story it'd be different....

The written press haven't a clue, their sources have dried up since Moyes left and Woodward has grown up a little. They hadn't a clue about most of United's transfer in the last 18 months until the deal was done.

Moyes used to take a few of the journo's out to a restaurant once a month, he'd give them transfer news in return for favourable reviews in their papers.
