Huers can always find a way to win, fair play to them. Thought we were by far the better team in the group game but that means nothing now. Only silver lining is that a good few Armagh lads are back next year and looking at that team a good few look like potential senior players in a few years.

Monaghan were decent against Armagh. They played with intensity and aggression and dominated the game. Only for a shot conversion of 45%, it  left the game closer at times. Overall a 10 point win did not flatter Monaghan.  Crucially for Monaghan , their star player , Tommy Mallen made his first appearance of the competition as a sub with 10 minutes to go and he set up two goals. That was his first game since the scored 1-4 against Newbridge in ulster club semi-final. Also great to see last year's full back Johnny Wright also get his first minutes this year after injury.

Monaghan look a different side from the one that were dismal against Donegal in R2 of the group games. But they were missing 6 lads that would be considered starters for that game. Still missing 4 of them, but hopefully Conor Meehan and Sean O'Connell might be back for the final. Not sure 2023 minor all stars Sean Og McElwain and Jack Lynch will be back in time from injury.

Tyrone will be a very difficult opponent for Monaghan. Any team going for 3 in a row has to be respected.

Tyrone missing Ruairi McCullagh, two in a row winner and well established as one of the best upcoming forwards in the country and Jamie Concannon, wing back who was probably their best player over the season. Full James Rafferty also out injured.
