Tyrone 2 pointer. Donegal up against it now.

tyroneStatto

Another 2 pointer. Tyrone ahead by 1 lol.

Donegal's putrid style of play is grand when they're in front, not so much when chasing a game

Monaghan beat Armagh by 10. 3-13 to 1-9

I didn't see the first half. How the hell wee Donegal six points up?

Right now they're like the worst incarnation of late stage Bonner football four years ago, footering about between the 45 and midfield and getting hit on the break.

Big win by Monaghan tonight. It's the same group that got to the AI minor final 3 years ago so the talent was there, but you're never really sure how young players kick on at that age - but that's a very impressive result

Donegal management clearly didn't watch any of the Derry/Tyrone game last week because they haven't set up any differently how Derry set up.

The Tyrone defence is extremely well organised. And Donegal haven't moved them about at all. You could hear the groans when Donegal looked like they had a good attack going and the Number 8 turned back again.

I think someone suggested that teams might benefit from a quarter final, and so it has proved
Armagh were short of their play in earlier games and they lost composure.

95% of their 'attacking' play is between the 65 and 45 hoping to bore the opposition to death...no plan b

That Tyrone team is dogged, work ethic is superb

Donegal should have been about 12 up at half time. Tyrone barely had possession in the 1st half it was all Donegal.

That was a sweet win with buckets of character to stay in it after a ropey first half.

Donegal lost that in first half with their wastefulness, should have put us away. By god they are hard to watch though, unless that game plan is played at 100mph like their seniors it's an abomination.

Is the Ulster final a knockout or will the losers play a winner from one of the other provences?

phpearse

underage football used to be great to watch but managers seem to drain to freedom out of players. That Donegal side should have been let loose and go play football. May as well loose when you give it a go instead of passing the ball around over the 45. Fair play to Tyrone for sticking at it but when looking for senior footballers, our lads are still small. Donegal likely to get more senior footballers from their side, than Tyrone will get from theirs.

I said it a few times recently and christ it showed 2nite, Monaghan actually had 2 more games than Armagh and the cohesiveness was there to see 2nite. Armagh can gave no complaints, well beaten, but we played Monaghan's game, panicked and never really settled, missed a lot of chances (as did Monaghan).

Monaghan were much the better side, they clearly had their homework done and snuffed out our threats. Bit of a systems failure for Armagh, I thought Ryan Nugent at CHB was our best player by a long shot, he looked like he was concussed, coming off late on.

A special word for the Ref, holy jesus I am all for Falloonesque refereeing but he was scandalous, he blew nothing, so many blatant fouls just ignored, it was stupid at times.

"You'll never hear a supporter say "The ref let it play out too much"" - some eejit on the SmallerFish podcast lol.
