Would Down ever look at doing what Derry have did and put everyone starting out in senior championship and then grading it on that.

How many hurling clubs in Down?


Derry's is far from ideal and a lot of other counties complain about it. It was changed this year to a different format but nobody knows why or who done it.

There's a bigger gap in Down between top and bottom. Portaferry would put 40 points (or more) on some of the junior sides in Down no problem. Liatroim beat Ballela out the gate in the intermediate last year after Ballela getting decent results in the group games.

Would Liatroim count as a junior side now? That's some hammering Portaferry gave them

They didn't seem to have the same depth as in previous years, but they seem to have a crop of young lads just starting senior football that bodes well for them in the next year or two. Maybe a couple of the veterans will be phased out for the young blood now.

They don't have as much strength in depth these days but the 2 brannigans would be huge losses

Was in Kilcoo over the summer for a camogie game and their minor footballers were playing on the main pitch.

One of their supporters I'd know didn't rate any of their minors, saying they're very weak, in Div 2 and not going well.

Minors and 16s are decent enough in div2, but they are very strong at 14s.
