Quote from: Aaron Boone on June 28, 2026, 10:48:26 AMAt least we can see progress now in 2026. The League campaign was underwhelming and Ulster was over quickly (maybe a good thing nowadays), but the team played well in the 1 point wins against Roscommon/Mayo. They were unlucky to draw Kerry again, but would fancy their chances against them in 2027/2028.

As some noted the league was purely about not getting relegated and blooding rookies. Jordan was outstanding I thought for a guy in his first proper year. Cassidy was showing serious potential too.

We have lots of positives to build on but feel for the older lads pushing for one more. It was not far away at all.

No telling how we would have fared against Galway had we made it through but the biggest chance since 2021 and lack of composure plus officiating cost us badly.

sam03/05

Won 5 games all season
Cavan Kildare and Offaly noone of which were very impressive
Roscommon & Mayo ( both lucky enough one point wins - Mayo for example should have had a goal in last minute but took a point). Then put it up to Kerry in a decent performance
But not seeing massive progress overall.

Jordan being outstanding is stretching it. He's had an OK debut season. I don't think he'll be in the team this time next year. Paudi Clifford had a 45 and a 2 point free from 50m - both nailed. Jordan had a 45 and a 2 point free from 50m - both missed.

And there's not a hope in hell the plan for the league was just to avoid relegation. Coming off the back of an all Ireland semi final and a good division 1 campaign in 2025 you're trying to tell everyone that the goal was to avoid relegation to Division 3? Performances were poor but the All Ireland series there was an improvement. No excuses for year 3 under MOR.

I don't know if this is supposed to slag Daly, but over the last 2/3 years he has done the most running and unsung work in the team. Everyone would love to score 4 points but not every man will pick up every free man on the break and from there
As a midfielder for one of the top clubs in the county, Daly rarely fields a ball from kick outs for the county
As a half forward he wins next to none breaking ball
He misses important scoring opportunities such as in the 1st minute v both Roscommon & Kerry.
His running back is lethargic & slow
Malachy O'Rourke's blind spot
Hopefully one of the wave of u20s coming through will displace him next season, such as Conor O'neill

Quote from: Quarterbackk on June 28, 2026, 09:53:04 AMThe decision to put Cormac Quinn on Clifford, Did Mal not watch what Con did to Quinn in the The club final a few years back.  The decision for Morgan not to hit the wind assisted frees in the first half. We did the same against Armagh and Mayo in the first half. And then the Mc Curry One - If he is fit he plays. Generally some performance from the lads - Con has been in serious form this year..

You add Darragh, Ruairi Mc Cullagh, Conor Devlin as a proper Man to man Marker the picture is only improving.

Conor Devlin been sent off in 3 of the last 5 games of football he's played. Good footballer, but would doubt he has the temperament/discipline for top inter-county football (as things stand)

Think was best chance for a Kerry defeat. Tom Sullivan & O'Shea to still come back in and will use the next game to clear the ring rust.

Give me a man anyday that has a bit of cut in him - a good manager can temper that. How many times did Ricey get sent off playing club football prior to the 3 all irelands?

If you're looking for someone to field the ball not sure O'Neill is the best option lol. Did you watch any of the U20s? He didn't exactly dominate in the air. Not sure where his best position is

Given Tyrone came in from 5 in D2 they didall you could reasonably expect of them and more. The management tho is really dodgy.
1 S&C bad - players out of after 60+ min
2. McCurry delayed needed on at HT or 30 min to let him get a feel of it ( Kerry knew he'd come on so no issue 30min intro)
3. Quinn on Clifford. Good corner but Devlin manmarker better
4. Morgan not taking frees he should. Instruct him.
5. Kickout plans? Maybe there was?
6. Daly ineffectual ok run run run - results?

Someone said rightly hallions needed McHugh McGleenon sitting there.

Look at Louth 14 now running mad very effective.( keeper now ooh bad)

Tyrone management needed in my view Horse Devlin and McGinley.

Mcgeary had a decent game. Kennedy was quiet, he needs to drive forward and use his size more like conn. Kennedy issue is he is too nice.

Its jordans 1st year. He will be a big player next year i hope. Morgan wasnt as bad as a 4, thats a bit harsh.

Mcelhom is playing too far out. He needs to be closer to goal. 7 is generous. Need more next year from him

Agree with the rest.

Niall Devlin wasn't a 9 ffs. Done ok on Clifford and probably should have started on him but steady on with the 9. Saying that he is probably our best man marker at this stage.

He didn't do much wrong. Kept clifford quiet enough a same with kobe. Credit where credit is due.

who else has kept clifford to two fisted points from play in 40 mins of football? he also locked down his ability recieving the kickpass that kerry use. he also stopped him coming out and controlling the ball. wont see a better defensive performance the rest of the year.

Niall tracked him well but Clifford got on plenty of ball and used it well. He also missed a 2 pointer and another one. He should have started on Clifford but there's nothing to suggest that Clifford wouldn't have got the same 1-3. Geaney was also giving Niall a tricky enough time in the 1st half.

Over the whole U20 season O'Neill held his own. He had a bad final against serious operators. He has a great engine, can score both points & goals and does his fair share in defending.
