Captain Obvious

Quote from: bennydorano on May 26, 2026, 01:55:26 PMSeems like an almighty cop out that will follow the CCCC like a bad smell for the rest of the year. The one supposedly airtight regulation undermined.

Shows the CCCC to be weak when they had to deal with a more high profile manager in Jim McGuinness and highest profile player in David Clifford.

We were robbed of seeing a deluge of Kerry tears

For that alone the CCCC should hang their heads in shame

David McKeown

From reading the statement it seems the CCCC wanted to intervene but couldn't because Hurson had seen both incidents and took action he deemed appropriate.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on May 26, 2026, 02:34:22 PMBrennan should be up in arms about this and should be putting serious pressure on the GAA to explain their positions.

And if he does, I hope he's given short shrift.

I gathered that.

St David of Fossa must be protected at all costs.

That'll be Hurson sorted for a holiday home in Donegal or Kerry whenever he wants

Armagh18

Can see why people would want McGuinness banned just for the consistency, but if you're looking Clifford banned you're jealous, thick or on a wind up.

David Clifford would be the same "for the consistency" he swung his elbow at a player others have got suspended for similar incidents.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

The only downside is the next meeting could be over officiated.

The "Donegal Catch" strategy appears to be working a treat.

Whatever about the rights and (clear) wrongs of the McGuinness situation, Brennan has absolutely zero entitlement to seek and explanation for a case that he's not involved in.

That's a rule that needs changing

I'd disagree but each to their own. If Brennan felt he was held to higher scrutiny/ standards than Jim, he would have every right to voice that. And I would 100% support him in that. Transparency should be sought whenever possible.

Genuinely
Why is it the right decision ?
The Rule was clear and he deserved punishment .
There is no mitigation under the rule .
The rule is shite. I'm far from a fan of Donegal or Jimmy but a 12 week ban for what he did would be daft.  Maybe one game max

I agree Armagh18 but I don't think that's the issue here.

The issue is they banned Brennan for 12 weeks for a similiar action. That's the issue.

One rule for one and another for Mc Guinness.

Be interesting to see if any manager lays a finger on a player or medic in the rest of the championship.

He could voice it, sure. Seek an explanation from the GAA? Different kettle of fish altogether.
