How can Errigal be stopped?

Saffron71

Only way would be to play ultra defensively.  Worryingly for Cargin, St Eunans seemed to get turned over fairly often tonight in the same way that both teams got turned over in the Antrim County Final.  They'll have to be ruthless in possession.

Errigal have long been reportedly the best team in tyrone though the championship wins may not reflect it. They were unlucky againstt Glen in 2022 and feel they left an ulster behind them.

If Cargin want some reapect in Ulster, i dont think it comes much bigger than Errigal C

Milltown Row2

Tyrone teams have the poorest record in Ulster, you'd want to be getting a Tyrone team when the draw is made.

Know your on wind up obviously but very difficult to see Cargin beat Errigal, will be a massive step up from anyone they have played in Antrim this year. Plus with McGinley over Errigal, he will know Cargin inside out. Errigal by 7

I don't get this 'will know a team inside out'.

Every team plays the exact same way now.  The style is exactly the same.  You don't need to analyse the opposition nowadays. They, when out of possession, park the bus and put 15 men behind the ball.

The key is who scores the most when they get their shots away.  Look at last night, St. Eunan's should have won that game. They had far mre chances, but by rushing shots and poor decision making, they threw it away.

EC, on the otherhand, hung in there, battled away and took their couple of chances at the end very well. They made good decisions on the ball.

A lot of games nowadays boils down to taking chances in the last 10 mins when the pressure is on.

Good decision makers required!

You think? Errigal in first half missed around 5 scoreable points and a penalty, they should have been well ahead

So although not having been able to get the better of Cargin on the championship trail some on this board evidently feel qualified to offer advice,(with one notable exception) on the Ulster way....

What Tyrone team have Cargin beat before in Ulster EOC as a matter of interest? Probably a while is it since had an Antrim vs Tyrone in the senior ulster club? Incidentally,  did St Galls in their dominance of Antrim come up against and beat many Tyrone teams in Ulster?

It's the reason why the club championship is great,  it's because clubs in Antrim, Fermanagh, Down can beat teams from Tyrone, Derry, Armagh etc. Great leveller.

Or you could take a glass half full view and see it as Antrim Gaels being supportive off Cargin and hoping they find a way to win!

Milltown Row2

This squad of players deserve to be in the mix and won't be fearing teams in Ulster.

Cargin will really fancy scalping EC, they are much bigger and more physical, and with the narrower pitch at Corrigan I think they have a real chance.

MR2 is right, fear no one at this level, no regrets just go at them.

All Saints v Derrylaughan this weekend in Cargin. Can All Saints prevail and get to the semi final? I see Kevin Niblock of St Gall's is over Derrylaughan this year. I seen is interview after the last game - He'll know all about All Saints and Baker. Should be interesting one - hope All Saints do the business.
