What a game! Tough, hard and some great scores under severe pressure.  This was the best game of the championship.  Well done to Sligo for a gutsy performance with an astonishing work rate.  Galway looked the better team for long periods of the game but when it counted Slgo stood up to the plate and delivered.

Full of admiration from an ardent Mayo supporter.  No need to stop now - keep going and knock the stuffin out of a few more big guns!

Well done to Sligo.
It would be some achievement to win connacht by beating the big three.

Yup they would repeat the feat Leitrim did in 1994

When was the last tome there was a connacht final without Galway - Mayo? I cannot remember one in my life; But maybe I am overlooking a year???

As for the match, I didnt think there was much between the teams. Galway were over reliant on Joyce. Was a little unsure why Concannon was so deep in the second half. Thought it would make sense to bring on a half back or somebody from the bench rather than him playing so deep. Otherwise, tell him to go back into the full forward line. Also, Bergin absolutely disappeared in the second half when the pressure came on. It was made for Cullinane to come on, He is not great but still, he is an option at midfield and I am not so sure Mullen would have had such an impact if Cullinane was introduced. Makes the decision to drop him off the panel all the more bizarre. Doesnt look like Kernan has much faith in that subs bench. I thought there were a couple of changes he could have made to that half forward line in the second half. I am interested to see if he'll make many changes to this team for next week.

Also, thought the ref should have given Galway time after that last Sligo free. He played amost exactly 3 minutes injury time, yet there were stoppages during that 3 minutes. Sligo took a lot of time with the last free and Blake was down for a while.

But still, over the 2 games, I think Sligo slightly shaded it and am actually really looking forward to the Sligo - Ros match now.

Brilliant! absolutely brilliant! How long have Sligo waited to come out on the right side of a tight finish? What a feeling. No more moral victories and feeling sorry for ourselves when we lose in a tight contest.
Well done one and all. a proud evening. Looking forward to the analysis.

mayogodhelpus@gmail.com  if you read my posts you would have seen "1947" instead of searching wikipedia for the answer

& the reason why i posted the 1980 final is because it was our biggest final win from what i remember, now tell me why you posted them mayo wins v us?

BTW the Connacht Senior final is a repeat of the under 21 final this year, Roscommon 1-5 Sligo 0-4 revenge for them i guess  :-\

You where not answering the question asked, instead you made an unrelated (bitch about Mayo AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN) comment. How was your biggest win ever relevant to the question asked. My response was relevant to your daft answer.

Mayo not even in the Final and you still can't stop thinking of us. Is Roscommon that insecure?
