Slot was on over 6 million salary at Liverpool doubt he's a realistic option. Eddie Howe will probably be in frame for most Premier League jobs if he wanted, don't see that being realistic either.

Is Kieran McKenna the most viable target, has had success and developed players working with a shoestring budget which appears to be what current board are about?

Kieran McKenna has a clause in his last payout that would cost Celtic £6m just to free that up before any negotations. Knowing Celtic they will have John McGlynn the Falkirk manager or someone of that calibre

Probably a bit of everything tbh. Scotland is less appealing to these guys plus they know they'll get much more £££ elsewhere. Celtic used to have the steal on smaller clubs with scouts everywhere back in the day but with internet and all these analytics and stats freely there is nowhere hidden and the we hidden gems are no longer hidden and out there for the world to see from no age. Celtic can't compete anymore.

In saying all of the above Celtic are now acting like a small club and should be miles ahead of themselves right now, the current Board have no ambition, no drive and only want to be 1pt ahead of Sevco at all times. For that I can never get my head around.

That should be no problem to Celtic. Just pay out McKenna and start building. Spend money to make money and all that. But we all know that it's the small club and biscuit tin mentality of the owners. In saying that, they did spend a bit of money (that they made from transfers) and some of the players appear to be badduns! Or maybe they're just playing with no confidence. Who knows ffs.
Love Neil Lennon but I never rated him that much as a manager and it would be a step backwards. The whole thing is a shambles.

The real step for Celtic is Europe. Even last year, as poor as they were at times, they managed a League and Cup double and were just short of a treble.

But an indicator is that a player like Arne Engels was enticed away from the SPL to the Championship. Celtic's record spend is £12 million. In 1996 Newcastle paid £15 million for Alan Shearer.

Celtic's success needs to go further in order to get players of higher quality. But, the rest of the SPL is so poor that there is little incentive to spend more than is needed.

think this is part of the problem the fans have. We arent actually spending any money on the squad. I am not gonna pretend to knwo anything about the finances of the club but surely we can spend more than we bring in on transfers?

As for the players we have brought in. Other than Duran, who seems to have gone off the boil, I havent been impressed. I think theres a good striker there in Hogh but for some reason we arent getting it out of him. Maybe not playing to his strengths?
