Classified Material on Human Intelligence Sources Helped Trigger Alarm

Documents related to the work of clandestine sources are some of the most sensitive and protected in the government. F.B.I. agents found some in boxes retrieved from Donald J. Trump's home.

WASHINGTON — They risk imprisonment or death stealing the secrets of their own governments. Their identities are among the most closely protected information inside American intelligence and law enforcement agencies. Losing even one of them can set back American foreign intelligence operations for years.

Clandestine human sources are the lifeblood of any espionage service. This helps explain the grave concern within American agencies that information from undercover sources was included in some of the classified documents recently removed from Mar-a-Lago, the Florida home of former President Donald J. Trump — raising the prospect that the sources could be identified if the documents got into the wrong hands.

Mr. Trump has a long history of treating classified information with a sloppiness few other presidents have exhibited. And the former president's cavalier treatment of the nation's secrets was on display in the affidavit underlying the warrant for the Mar-a-Lago search. The affidavit, released in redacted form on Friday, described classified documents being found in multiple locations around the Florida residence, a private club where both members and their guests mingle with the former president and his coterie of aides.

But given everything that went down with the dossier and the fisa warrants, conservatives like me have every reason to question and doubt the FBI

Seems strange given the FBI handed Trump the Whitehouse on a platter with Comeys statement about Hillary's laptop days before the polls. . . Conservatives have very selective memory when it comes to issues that work out in their favour!!

What did the FBI ever find to implicate Clinton in that particular case??

Hillary gave them printed copies of her emails (not electronic versions) so there was no way for the FBI to automatically cross reference with what was on the laptop.

They had to go through them one by one and manually reconcile each one with the printed copies

Ok you are right I dont know  how actually it went down , But i doubt you do either ,   Was there stuff on there she didnt want us to see . Yes I am sure there was , but I Think loads of politicians are hiding stuff all the time ""for example Hunters labtop etc'' . But  Fbi's Comey  indecision   possibly cost her the election , Unlike most she went in front  congress and testified for hours without pleading the 5th every 5 seconds     Trump paid  a newspaper to ""catch and kill ""  loads of negative stories , In defense  of the Clintons or (Trump for that matter) there was somewhat of Witch hunts out for them. In the Clintons case ""Land deal led to Monica etc .  Same at the Moment with ""Raid on Trumps place ""  I am not sure What to believe . I do know US Politics is a mess at the moment .

I actually hate both parties almost equally

I'm old school, so I lean Republican but disagree with them on many topics
