Good result last night, still can't understand why Kenny and Rafa before him is trying to make a midfielder out of aurelio. Although glen looked ok on the left wing back slot, i would still prefer fabio to knock in first time crosses. Have to say thay Kuyt played well in full forward, but with carroll and luis battling with him for those  positions at the top of the team i think it might be time to stand him down. Liverpool really need to add some pace to their attack in the summer. All in all,  good game to watch. Roll on sunday and let us see what masterplan Kenny will have up his sleeve.

Kuyt is one of the best full forwards in the business.

I thought becuse it was "going in" Suarez gets credited with the goal, as opposed to going wide and a defender hacking it in.

If the initial shot is on target the attacker gets credited with the goal even if a defender knocks it in after that.

That's the way it's meant to be, but I've seen a few Chelsea goals reclassified as OGs this year for the merest of deflections.

At least Suarez passes Andy Gray's ultimate test of a foreign footballer.....being able to do it on a cold wednesday night against Stoke :)

To be fair Andy was talking about a cold winter's night in the Britannia stadium

As for Suarez didn't i tell ye all he would add bite to the forward line & i would fancy another debut goal on sunday but this time from El NiƱo.

Liverpool great Robbie Fowler showed his disgust at the departure of Fernando Torres to Chelsea by wearing one of the Spaniard's No.9 jerseys on Friday.

Fowler donned the shirt as part of The Shirts That Hurt fundraiser for Queensland flood victims in Perth, and expressed his dismay at the sale of the former Anfield hero.

While many Liverpool fans burnt shirts carrying Torres' name this week after the record sale to the English Premier League champions, Fowler opted to don his - all in the name of charity.

"There is nothing wrong with the front of the shirt, it is the name on the back," Fowler blasted.

"I think it is quite apt to wear it for a worthy cause as it is something myself or any other Liverpool fan wouldn't be seen in."

Despite growing up a staunch Everton fan, Fowler is an Anfield legend, scoring 183 goals in 367 games, earning him the nickname "God" from supporters, and is now firmly in the red corner.

"There will be a lot of these shirts left in the cupboards, they will be surplus to requirement, I don't know what will happen to them," he said.

"With the transfer window closing he didn't leave the club in the best shape or circumstances, but it is good they have signed two excellent replacements in (Andy) Carroll and (Luis) Suarez."

Ironically Torres will make his Chelsea debut on Monday morning (AEDT) against his former teammates at Stamford Bridge.

Stoke         D
Chelsea            L
Wigan             W
West Ham       W
Man Utd           L
Sunderland       D

I think 8 points from those is realistic in the next 6 games.

Wonder where that would lead to in the table?

Hope you didn't put that bet on EC looks like you lost it already..

It was a prediction not a bet LL.  ;)  I gave up betting on Liverpool results a long time ago as they are so hard to predict. You would have got some odds on Blackpool taking 6 points off Liverpool this season. ;)

Thanks for your concern though :-*

How would you Pool fans compare the now departed Torres with Fowler & Owen

Interesting enough before Torres arrived at Anfield Liverpool were winning trophies he was hyped up to win pool many more trophies but won nothing in his time at Anfield.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the same thing happened to him at Chelsea.

What does a club do with all the Torres merchandise after a move like this? Burn it? Donate it? Whip the number and name of the back of the shirts?

Was watching on skysports news yesterday and there is a group of fellas collecting all the jerseys and sending them to Africa,I'm sure the club is involved in something like this to.I would imagine they have loads of training gear etc every year that becomes out of date when the new styles come in as well so I'm sure there has to be some sort of program in place for what happens to them.

I read a thing on LFC Weekly where they had some school out in Nigeria, and they brought out a pile of training gear with them to that. I'm sure that's replicated throughout the world.

Bingo

Looking forward to the game sunday. Massive game for Kenny and a real test to see what progress they have made.

Its always a tough ask going to the Bridge and Chelsea are starting to show some form again. They still seem suspect at the back but will their new signing get a start to tighten that area.

Hard to see what way Liverpool will line out. Keep three at the back to crowd Chelsea out? I wouldn't have thought so, maybe drop the Greek (too slow) and Aurelio. Take in another holding midfielder (Poulsen  - hope not or Sperring).

Hard to read Daglishs team selections but I'd love to see Suarez start.

Minus15

I think we could see something like this on Sunday

Reina

Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Kuyt Gerrard Lucas Meireles Maxi
Suarez
