Noticed the new Antrim manager there on Saturday at the game. He will have liked some of what he saw though in all likelihood the players he would want are likely not to be available for him. Likes of Seann and Nigel Elliot, Decky Smith and Keelan Molloy. Ronan Boyle had a decent game for St Brigids.

Thought Reuben Carleton had a good game also, putting aside his missed two point frees.

One of the stand out things from the Championship so far is that our established county players don't stand out. There are no real elite players in the county.

In matches to date very limited amounts of individual flair in forwards or one on one defending skills, mostly pulling and dragging, alongside a shortage of true pace (unless everyone is lightening quick!).

Systems and tactics to the fore and heading to the rut that Irishrugby has found itself with players being over coached from a young age.

Sadly that's just where the standard has got to and why some people don't think the players playing for the county are much of a level above.

To be fair some of this may be down to the way football has been for the last 10/15 years, that inside forward has nearly been lost and players hardly know how to play in there and make 3/4/5 different runs. You are seeing it in others counties as well.

Hopefully with the new rules, this will turn and we will start to see them coming back.

It's just a pity they were only beat by 1pt. Bigger shower of gurns and ganches you'll never meet.

I had to bite my tongue over this PJ at the game.

I have been to a lot of games in my life and experienced some mouth pieces along the way - on our own side included - but i am glad never to have to listen to the SB fans again.

Every call was wrong, every foul their own players committed was an injustice. The ref was in Dunloy's pay roll, he was a member of our club, he loves country clubs etc. etc. etc.

My favorite movement was the man who walked past me (and had done this pacing up and down the grass bank for most the game complaining) to tell me that the latest call by the ref was 'absolutely incredulous, incredulous i tell you'.

I didnt even know what to say to him other than laugh. I wanted to tell him to fuk up and get back to that fence again but it just made me laugh too much

I listened to their ladies management one night and I never heard worse.

They really are a gather up.

City folk tend to be a bit more vociferous on the line, that's across the city clubs and just the nature of the culture, I wouldn't get wound up by it, part of the spectacle and amusement as long as it doesn't cross the line of abuse.

The last free could have gone either way, on balance probably a free out as 3 forwards around one defender. Commentators weren't sure however presume they are 50m away. No surprise that supporters from either side see that one differently.

Every club has ganches,as the saying goes if you don't know who it is...

It's a toss of a coin as to who makes the final from Dunloy Portglenone. Hopefully both sides go for it. Dunloy look sharper than last year, Portglenone lots of different options as to how they play.

Some serious 'hate' for them, while I get the Lavey transfers did not help them or their reputation. I don't think there is any need for the level vitriol toward them here.

If you are judging them by their supporters then I dont think there are too many clubs out there who could throw the first stone in that row.

In fact we need more city clubs putting the effort in that they are not less.

Well lets be honest here, nobody will be judging them on their supporters alone will they?

Throw in the ridiculous sledging by many of their players over the past couple of years, the new signings, their unwelcoming attitude towards visiting support (you arent allowed to stand there fella), pulling out of the league semi final a year after celebrating so eagerly after winning it...

The word 'hate' is a bit extreme though I must say.

If anything I've been impressed at the work they have done in their club. They are making strides in hurling and camogie which is good to see.

Belfast esp. needs more camogie as its dying badly in the city. Sarsfields have made a good push this past few years and will, in all likelihood win the junior championship and progress to intermediate level - to back up their promotion to Division 2.

God knows, i wouldnt be that familiar with people with such social status. But your right, she looked like she had one or two bottles of Château Cheval Blanc in her.

Have to say, her husband is one lucky man. She showed levels of skill with the hand gestures and technique that was very arousing to many middle aged men at the match

All clubs have supporters who get carried away, nothing new there. It's their transfer policy that annoys me.
It's a well known fact that they offered to aid and abet the Lavey peace talks all for their own gain as it was quickly followed by 6 inter county transfers. The Downey lads should be playing for Lavey in Derry no matter what happened. Brigids should have kept their noses out.
