Not a bad year, all things considered. Majorly misfired in the second half. Kerry were good in fairness, but Tyrone's slow build up and wides demoralised themselves and boosted Kerry.

I don't think they are miles off Kerry, if they can get it together. Mattie and Petey might not return next year, so those are pretty big holes that potentially need filled.

Just pulled that figure out of the air  :D

Diarmuid McNulty needs to be involved in the senior set up. All very clueless and weak today. Very slow build up is never going to suit the forwards we have. Very slow also to change anything.

Mattie great servant but wouldn't be considered a hole to fill at this stage. But will retire.

All in all its a disappointing year for O'Rourke. Yes we were in semi final but realistically we went in hope today rather than a real belief we would win.

My main issues with this year as below-

Thought O'Rourke would have worked on a few players to kick 2 pointers from earlier this season. We dont have anyone reliable at this level.

Very slow game plan when we have skillful out and out forwards. Game plan doesn't suit our players. Either change the play or find a big full forward.

Tactis wrong at crucial times. Starting with best team today instead of ending with it. Keeping an older hampsey on an on fire clifford. No peter or ruari until game essentially gone.

Lack of goal threats all year.

Need more positivity in our play instead of endless recycling.

Need a big improvement next year. Promotion to division 1 and ulster final appearance.

DaleCooper

Old systems thinking with new rules. Definitely underwhelming considering he was heavily involved in the FRC.

Tyrones kicking was brutal, wasn't a whole lot of pressure on a lot of the misses.

Bradley as usual didnt do much; waste of a sub.

You can talk tactics but ultimately a lot of the players have a lot of personal work to do.

2026 Bring in Donaghy if that's a problem for mccurry get rid of mccurry.... know what I mean mucker.

Wouldnt agree with that. No point bringing on subs when game is over and expecting miracles. Subs need brought out with time to get up to speed. Systems are there to get the best out players.

Considering orourke was involved with creating the new rules i am very disappointed at his approach this year.

It's mental that everyone has a solution after we lose.
Jerome it's fairly obvious that you are involved in the u20s set up, your sniping has been incredibly ungracious.
Have we progressed.
Absolutely.
That's all you can hope for

Scoring Zone

Half decent year, there is more control and system of play and I think Errigals run did upset the start of the year there is a few key issues that the heat of a AI SF against Kerry

1) Size, particularly forwards, we are severely lacking in size/ power - Kerry works so much less for scores because of Clifford - Canavan and McCurry can't be faulted for effort but not physically strong enough to hold there own

2) Kicking Game, abit contradictory here as you can't have a kicking game ( which Tyrone don't have because of the above), if you want to win big games in Croker, you need to kick in quick and get scores - Tyrone atm are carrying and switching from side to side waiting on a mistake to score, huge amount of effort, and leave themselves wide open if turned over.

In general Kennedy, Kilpatrick, Devlin, McGeary and Donnelly had quality seasons but the young guns need to accelerate development as there could be abit of turnover

McCurry season fell off a cliff once it hit croke park. Was yards out in front of foley but was easy caught.

D canavan is quality and mcelholm as well. Seanie od was good yesterday but already that's 3 small players in the forwards. Daly will improve again next year who has a bit of height but there is room for something different in the forward line.

Orourke picked a system to best suit the players at hand.
Throughout the year there has been so many unforced individual errors and that have proven costly.
Kerry fairly simple game plan in first half. Pull everyone out and leave Clifford in 50 yards of space 1v1. Don't think Tyrone all year got Canavan in a one v one situation with loads of space it just wasn't the way they wanted to play.

What would be your reason for this? He has definitely did well at school and u20 level. No doubt about that. But senior level a different ball game and that batch of players was extremely strong. He's with Gortin I think this year. Be interesting to see how that goes.

With Canavan (x2), McCurry, Bradley and McElholm playing inside, we really need to get the ball in much quicker. Would like to see Harte and Devlin utilised for their passing.

Yes a lot not too interested in kicking the ball in. Harte always looking. Strange Harte wasn't in earlier. Mckernan looked rusty
