Quote from: Armamike on June 26, 2025, 09:12:02 AMThe CB could have handled this much better.  There is a right way to do things. Should have let the dust settle over the next few weeks until after the final.

Is management the issue in Mayo?  A lot of good people have tried to win the AI.  Maybe management isn't the issue.

Why would they wait until after all-ireland final?
If they're going to change, do it now, no point hanging around for the sake of it.
Potential managers could take up other roles in the meantime.
Plus ideally the new mgmt would be in place for the club championship.

Nothing wrong with the Mayo CB statement.

Time to move on now.

tend to agree with this

Haven't you enough to be worried about.
They get momentum, they go mad, here they go

Every fanbase universally hates their county board. So for Mayo people to now be coming out to bat for them shows how sensitive they are to any bit of outside criticism

Interesting to see Lee Keegan come out so strongly in the other direction
Larryin - This treatment by HQ has continued right to the modern era, one day the truth will be know

I dunno, seems to be "outsiders" that are getting excited about it.
Most people think its the right decision, the wording of the statement will be forgotten by weekend.

Leeroy and Ros Andy the new dream team.

We'll probably be providing the entertainment in September/October before appointing someone in November :-\

The Connaught Telegraph has learned that the management team declined the offer to resign which had been made on a number of occasions since the defeat to Donegal in the final group match of the All-Ireland FC series.

This forced the committee members into a position where it could not let the matter drag on indefinitely in their pursuit of a new manager.

It is obvious the executive committee has a clear strategy in mind and an appointment could be made sooner than expected in order to avoid ongoing speculation.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

I think Oisin McConville would be a great shout for Mayo.
He has done well with a limited team like Wicklow - they managed to knock Westmeath out of the Tealteann.
He'd bring some of that directness that I think Mayo are missing.
