Quote from: Back2Back on June 10, 2025, 01:12:52 PMAre many clubs in Tyrone being hit with players heading off to Australia or States? Loughmacrory and Carrickmore have a few lads heading away for a number of months.
Eglish and Killyclogher also taking a big hit.

Heard the above 2 teams losing men plus Clarkes, Pomeroy, Donaghmore & Omagh all losing men or have lost players who are gone already

Are the lads outside the named panel of 26 allowed to play for their clubs on Friday night?

Quote from: Sean Og Patriots on June 10, 2025, 02:57:28 PMI've been hearing a lot of rumours about various clubs lately. Donaghmore , in particular, have caught my attention. They've got serious potential this year, but unfortunately, a few of their key players are currently abroad. That's a real shame, because with a full squad, I'd have tipped them to win the championship.

That said, Donaghmore have often been a bit timid when it comes to championship performances. I believe they'd need all 15 league games with a consistent lineup and full buy-in from the squad to really challenge for the O'Neill Cup.

As for McShane and Brian Fenton—there's talk of them joining a new team. I'll give you a clue: The river flows backwards.

It's iconic, really, because both players seem to be taking a step back in some ways. Make of that what you will!

You know it makes me wonder is the GAA what it used to be?

Back in my day there was 1 or 2 players going and they were shamed for leaving their club to dawn the colours of another in a far away land, the odd big county star who was being offered silly money which in them days you couldn't turn down and it was understandable. But on your return you may wave goodbye to playing any championship football that year

But every tom dick and Harry is heading away now and it seems to be the normal some lad will fly away for 2/3 months of the year and be back for championship and walk into the team.

The GAA used to be the corner stone of the parish and kids used to dream of lifting the O'Neil cup. I fear now a days they dream of spending summers in the big apple drinking their money away playing Go Games.

Not sure on McShane but Fenton has been with a club in Chicago this past fortnight. Has definitely played one game, possibly two by this stage

Next year If Donaghmore can keep all their players at home and play 15 league games with a consistent line up they definitely have a decent chance at challenging for the intermediate championship.

What a result for the "stewart" last night. the mighty island didn't know what hit them. they were expecting to turn up and walk over them but the "stewart" had other ideas.

Handbags at the end clearly showing the island couldn't handle their defeat.

Intermediate, forever a mine field and always good for an upset.

three matches conceded in div1 reserves tonite not great look so early in the season.
had a nosy in div2 and rock have conceded four games from six but have a win and draw in two games they did field, what is going on there?

Sean Og Patriots

Rock have a panel of maybe 35 players, think past few weeks training numbers low of approx 15-20.
Played most senior team for the reserve games for "match fitness."
I have always depended on the kindness of strangers. All Ireland Club - 2030.

28th October 1984 would have been the last time the Fianna tasted defeat at Intermediate level before last night. Fintona beat them on that occasion 1-9 to 1-3.
Naomh Eoghan aren't a bad side and Clonoe just about beat them so last night's result probably not a huge shock overall.

Judging my carmen result, it will be another few years before the O'Neill Cup comes 'home'

Gonna be a long year in Derrylaughan by the looks of it.

Derrylaughan not panic - will have big Kennedy back for the crunch games

Stewartstown look like they going to drop from 2 after a hammering by a poor Kildress outfit

Clogher look strong in 3 but Cookstown will win it - Clogher can't even field a Ressie side and the Sizzlers are handing out some big thumpings! Jayo be the Mayor of Cookstown come November - Open top bus for another Div 3 League!!!!
