There's a proposal that managers will be paid a flat rate across the country by Croke, next it will be looking at club referees as the intercounty ones will 'drop' to clubs for the extra dollars

Will keep some people happy at least  :-\

I could never be happy at an Antrim defeat, and am not happy with this one. Andy McEntee has surely managed his last game here and hopefully we realise on his departure that throwing £65k a year at a mediocre manager and £120k in total or whatever into the senior teams management alone is not the answer.
Also Donal Murphy took all the plaudits for bringing McEntee to Antrim, so he can take his share of the blame for the way it has turned out

Disgraceful sums of money (if true).
Surely there are men of the ilk of mckeever, madden, k brady etc that we must look to now to get out of the basement and try to restore some pride and long term planning. I wouldn't expect any of those to do it for peanuts but I'm sure it would be a damn site less than mcentee and with far greater output.

Unfortunately appointing a man after he so publicly admitted had no interest in management at that stage has proved disastrous.

Goodray

How many get relegated from div 1 this year? its getting tight looking down there.

Last 4 go into a relegation play off semi final and final same as top 4

Spike

only way is up from here.

Would it not be best for those best Antrim managers mentioned to be involved with the kids?

Many speak about how poor we are from under 14 up, surely these better managers would be best utilised here?

You can rule Madden out, complete mercenary!

Based of what ?? Heresay of how much money he is getting taking club teams , wise up if he was getting paid half of what McEntee was I'd be surprised so no point coming with that bullsh1t , why not approach him and see , it can't get much worse and he is a man who clearly knows his stuff.

Anyone else we could see stepping up to it , would there be any interest from Ronan Devlin being involved in the club game for a while ?

On another note

I was at the Cargin and Ulster select ;D  game yesterday in Toome , Jesus that silly ginger fella on the line may as well of been playing wing back for them he was never off the field screaming at Kevin Parke , felt bad for him however thought he done well yesterday let it go well.

Cargin seemed to be very light in men in fairness brides are too , Cargin struggled from their kickouts as Brides squeezed hard and in fairness worked well for them was well executed and they seem to be structured well.

After taking a defeat to ballymena it makes you wonder is the gap starting to close on Cargin ??

Cargin would need to get out and start training

And they won't be allowed to go after a member of the current county senior back room team either.

...who actually started it, contrary to a few reports here

The gap has been closing on Cargin a few years now and they keep winning championships. A league defeat, their first of the season I'm sure, means very little. Still very much the team to beat.

NatSoSaff

Strong enough Cargin team based on the saffron Gael report I would say. Maybe Conor Johnston and Kevin O'Boyle the only nailed on starters missing?

St Brigids had all their Derry men by the looks of things but still have a lot of strength to come in with the finnegans, morgan and boyle from the county. They'll gather pace now in the coming weeks. Could be their year.

imtommygunn

It's just a league game - would be surprised if St Brigids anywhere close yet. It is Cargin's to lose.

What has been the story with Conchuir Johnston? Has he been injured?

The leagues etc should get more interesting now with the county players back at least.

First league defeat of the year, Cargin wont be too worried

On Kevin Pakre someone needs to pull him on these scrums he lets go on. Against Creggan on Wedensday he let on go for for upwards of a minute until the ball just spilled out one man laying on top of the ball men pushing shoving trying to kick the ball out. Its going to end in an all out brawl in some game.
