Surprised you actually went to a meaningless game.. surely there's better things to do?

Assessing ref tonight I had to go

Would like a read at that, between the rugby scrums he allowed (like the county final) and mouthing at Creggan supporters by the clubrooms mid game it would make for a good read.

Ah, supporters allowed to give abuse but ref can't defend himself.. gotcha

Quote from: Take the Mark on June 04, 2025, 10:06:45 PMEntertaining game in Creggan this evening. Cargin worthy winners.

Ahoghill are going to do it again and stay up, massive win for them.

The rest of the games looked fairly predictable apart from Whitehill getting a point in Armagh.

Was following on Twitter. TNN were 9 behind with 19 to play and Aghagallon had to score at the death to get a draw.
I came out of Lurgan last night to watch our neighbours, was that Tir Na Nogs senior team? If so they missed a chance of a win because this is the worst Aghagallon senior team I've ever seen. Wonder if it's down to the turmoil within the club?

2 wrongs do not a right make.

However its unsurprising to see you defend such behaviour since you called a Moneyglass spectator a f*t c**t a few years back.

Indeed, but do you take to the internet to personally call out every person who "mouths" at referees?

If not, why not?

Take the Mark

Some level of abuse for referees is par for the course I'm afraid - not that I condone it. Fairly sure its not in the refs code of conduct to give guff to anyone either.

Duine Inteacht Eile

"I'm a total hypocrite." Is the answer you were looking for.

Take the Mark

No, I don't abuse referees. Its a tough gig.

Are you for 1 minute condoning referees giving abuse to spectators? That wouldnt be a wise course of action across the board.

Duine Inteacht Eile

I didn't suggest you abused referees nor did I condone referees abusing anyone. I mean, I only wrote 2 short posts, you could have just read them again.

I am suggesting that you do not hold others to account when they are giving abuse to people at our games.
For example, I imagine the incident you mentioned was not an entirely one sided affair yet, no mention of how the Creggan supporters behaved towards the referee.

'I imagine'

Yes, because you weren't there and don't know.

Sin é.

Oíche mhaith 😀

Duine Inteacht Eile

I think we all know.

There's no fada on "sin" btw.

Was this the same spectator that made physical threats and daughter tried to hold him back?

Wise up.. he wasn't too sensitive hurling abuse the whole game.. when confronted he hadn't much to say

I don't mind seeing referees giving a bit back.

Normally it's a response.

Can't think of any time a referee has started on a spectator first.

And responses are occasional enough anyway.

But all adds to the entertainment you get for your fiver.

It's really simple enough, it's always a reaction. As for the two wrongs, such a stupid comment, if they ain't hurling abuse then there is none coming back..

But it's inbred in some, they feel for their fiver that the ref is fair game. Every club has them lol

I'll give you that 1, I recall being at a Lamh Dhearg game where a 'big' fan of theirs hurled abuse at umpires for missing something off the ball. When I told him to wise up his response was 'I paid my fiver I'll do what I want' - found out later he works for a solicitors office. Couldnt make it up.

This is why the county boards in the place it is.

Even if it is to a moneyglass man 😜
