Likes of sparky and mcshane must have been annoyed watching the canavans trying the same dummy at every chance and lose possession.

There is some positives but the score line significantly flattered us thanks solely to mccurry.
Would be funny if McShane was annoyed watching any other forward. Wouldn't have much room to say anything

Quote from: BennyHarp on April 27, 2025, 03:31:34 PMI'd say you'd need to be fairly blind not to see the improvement in Tyrone from last year. Yes it's not perfect yet but we have disposed of a Cavan team who took us to extra time last year, fairly easily and took the reigning all Ireland champions to within a kick of the ball. Yes there's loads of work to do but I'd be fairly confident that we are moving in the right direction.
Agreed.. there are people with a very obvious agenda will jump on any defeat.. probably remnants of Harte disciples. The improvement is obvious and I wouldn't be judging to season is over. Meeting defeated provincial champions in the group you'd having to fancy chances of progressing further... not at level to win the All Ireland but even that would be meet with criticism by begrudgers. Keep her lit Malachy!

Pretty much my thoughts as well Benny

Tyrone are in the chasing pack, at the end of last year they were a shell of themselves, come on strides so far this year, they'll not be easy put away regardless who they face and their imperfections, bench starting to look strong now too so there's competition for places and bench impact

Some people need to get a grip

I'd argue that we have managed to find an attacking strategy that gets McCurry on the ball more in the scoring zone this year. If I'm not mistaken he's been Man of the match in our last 3 games and is picking the ball up in dangerous positions on the loop on a much more consistent basis under MOR which is not just a coincidence. We had been pathetic going forward for the past two or three years with no obvious attacking plan. We are now seeing less of the frustrating laboured slow sideways attacking and we move the ball forward alot more quickly. This is clearly the work of the new management. It'll take a bit of time and mistakes will be made but the progress is there to see.
That was never a square ball!!

Tyrone should have held on and won. Bad game management at end big part up to Morgan as he controls kickouts. Irish News report stats. On kickouts told it all. No press no strategy on own or Armagh's . 3 chest height uncontested catches on own kickouts by Armagh at 50-60m out . Inexcusable.Standing off Armagh of all teams ludicrous. No muscle no tone. Physical and Mental conditioning/strength missing. Porter not doing his job. RC prima donna hopeless. P Harte, M Donnelly and McElholm should have started and given all they had for 45-50 min then mebbe mebbe RC could come on and do something useful.
No general at the back.  Is that Brennan's role or the constantly  lateral McGeary? Hampsay should have been brought on earlier. Morgan kickouts got worse towards the end . McCurry brilliant now there is mental physical strength in action. And yet they so nearly won. Says it about Armagh too.

Hilarious analysis 🤣 😂 😆

The Trap

Some people seem to forget that the last 2 management set ups won the All Ireland.

Yes they may have stayed longer than they should but they are Tyrone legends.

Supporters haven't bought into this new set up yet.

There is lots to do.

Truthsayer

Not buying in to new management yet is one thing... writing them off before the first season is over is ridiculous.

The Trap

Didn't say that. Give them time but they have lots to prove.
Don't be slating great tyrone men that have done it.

It is you saying manager stayed on too long. You mean Harte? I don't disagree with that and aye he did a great job '03 to '10...

ONeill

Loads of positives yesterday.

Tyrone haven't been performing anywhere near AI contender level since the Mayo final in 2021. That's 4 years. It'll take time. MOR is astute enough to know the long game. I've no idea how we were still in that game yesterday after 55 mins but in previous years that was a 8-9 point loss.

The zonal marking didn't work yesterday. It was frustrating to watch players turn their back on Armagh possession.

On another note, the new rules are taking a lot out on players and refs. I saw Gough at HT and it looked like he was struggling.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Wildweasel74

It's funny u on about zonal marking, Tally does this with Derry and I maintain it's causing Derry serious problems on the opposition team kickout,we win very few. Tyrone seem to have the same problem.

omagh_gael

Zonal marking works against weaker teams who don't have a top class keeper. I was directly behind rafferty in 1st half and the ease with which he picked out Armagh players was ridiculous.
