Would have liked to have seen a few more lads getting game time too, but maybe they're setting their stall out early and getting ready for tougher games ahead. Donegal up next which should be their hardest group game.

Fermanagh were very poor. Tyrone look good but next week and an Ulster semifinal or final v Derry will determine how good.

Donegal 3-16 Tyrone 0-17

DAZZLING Donegal hit three cracking goals as they defeated reigning Ulster and All-Ireland champions Tyrone in a richly entertaining affair in Ballybofey last night.

Mark McDevitt, Conor McCahill and sub Dylan Mulholland grabbed the all-important goals in a game that saw Tyrone always chasing matters after Donegal hit them with a 1-4 blitz in a period of four minutes midway through the first half.
McDevitt scored a superb individual goal when he ran 45 metres and slammed the ball to the Tyrone net after 16 minutes.
McCahill also hit a screamer three minutes into the second half and sub Mulholland book-ended a fine display with the final goal in the 59th minute.

The game opened at a frantic pace and Seanan Carr opened the scoring for Donegal after a great through ball from Daithi Gildea.
Tyrone, who had nine starters from last year's All-Ireland winning side got on a lot of ball but hit two wides on the spin before Shane Callaghan made it 0-2 to 0-0 for the home side.
Donegal could have had a goal in the fourth minute as Conor McGinty tore through the Tyrone defence, but his shot was well smothered by Red Hand goalkeeper Cathal McAneney.
Speedy corner-forward Conor McCahill added another point for Donegal as wasteful Tyrone hit two more wides.
Full-forward Ruairi McQuillan got them off the mark from a free in the seventh minute as the Red Hands enjoyed a period of dominance.
McCullagh was on target again, but Callaghan negated this effort with a pointed free for Donegal at the other end.
Liam óg Mossey then hit the point of the night with a soaring effort with the outside of the boot and corner-back Conor Devlin made it all square in the 16th minute.
But the game turned dramatically in the space of four minutes as Donegal rammed in 1-4.
Carr pointed a free and McCahill was awarded a point, even though his effort was at least a foot wide.
Noah Grimes responded for Tyrone, but they were hit with a thunderbolt when Mark McDevitt ran 45 metres through the Red Hand defence before sliding the ball under McAneney.
Donegal were rampant and midfielder Kevin Muldoon converted a two-pointer for the home side, who had suddenly jumped into a 1-8 to 0-5 lead.
Carr and McCahill made it 1-10 to 0-5 at the break.

It got even better for Donegal as McCahill hared through the Red Hand defence and hit a rocket to the roof of the Tyrone net in the 33rd minute to make it 2-10 to 0-5.
But Tyrone responded well with five points in response including a two-pointer from play from Conor O'Neill and single points from Caolan Donnelly, Darragh Donnelly and Noah Grimes to cut Donegal's lead to 2-10 to 0-10.
But that was as close as Tyrone could get as Carr increased Donegal's lead from a free
McCullagh and Callaghan then traded points and Callaghan's was a magnificent soaring effort from an impossible angle.
Mark McDevitt made it 2-13 to 0-11 and Conan Devlin and Dylan Mulholland exchanged points and a two-pointer from Tyrone sub, Shea McDermott, made it 2-14 to 0-14 three minutes from time.
A Carr free and a cracking goal from sub Mulholland after a seven-man move sealed the deal for a most impressive Donegal side as O'Neill hit a final two pointer for Tyrone.

McElholm missed the game - he was in Portugal with the Senior team.
Think they missed a lot and Donegal sucker punched them with the goals.
Leaves them out every Wednesday now and facing a Semi Final against Derry in Derry who will be fresh of the back of a two week break. Big task ahead now to retain.

How much would it take to take the seniors away to Portugal?  50k at least..... What did we We build a center of excellence for?

Derry not certain of top spot yet , they would have to avoid defeat against Cavan to guarantee topping the table

Aaron Boone

Tyrone U-20's did what they could but Donegal/Derry are the worthy favourites on paper for Ulster and beyond.

Good to see the spread of players from the Inter/Junior clubs again. Was that mostly Western for the clubs representation on Weds?

The facility might be great but its in the biggest hole of a place you could find. Whoever was behing putting it there needs chased. Roaring wind everytime you go to it. How are seniors supposed to train in that.

Jim Bob

How can the senior squad get off work to go to Portugal. Thinking of the civil servants / teachers in the squad?
Do the schools have to pay for a substitute teacher to cover for them ?
Do they  get paid when away etc etc ?
