Factcheck in an earlier post said "two yellows at best". Two idiotic tackles that deserved reds is what they were. And yes this does land at a managers door, how would it not. Some clueless individuals on here hi

So you'd blame the manager for that lad that was sent off in the county final?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

1: It's not Hand who tackles late but does get the red. I recommend you slow it down

Stweart ploughs into the back of someone when he's not looking. It's an off the ball and deserves a yellow. It's not striking

Unless Ronan Boyle has hit the lad on the ground, which you can't see from this clip, it's a late tackle and another yellow

Both stupid, yes but very harsh straight reds

Now tell me how it's the managers fault?

They'd be better just making Antrim football like the Champions League groups and have all the teams in it.

Take the Mark

For those who aren't up to speed with the rules of football - it doesn't have to be a strike for it to be a red card.

SaffronSports - you'd think the creation of a sub committee last year to try and improve the state of the leagues (and championship) would have led to less teams but somehow they have managed to do the opposite and weaken leagues and championships.

Just so I'm not getting this wrong, the team that finished top of section b in division 2 get promoted based on championship  performances 2 years ago?  Surely moneyglass, st endas, St pats, Glenavy  all have a shout as well then???

Must be some size of tv's about, can barely make out which teams are playing on those links never mind comment on the offences, either way not sure how the manager gets the blame for them, either brain farts by players or over zealous referee.

You can pinch your screen and zoom in 😂

That's not the recording we get.

Driving your shoulder into the back of a man right in front of the referee is a red all day long...

The other lads timing was well out, but at least there was a ball in the vicinity at some point in time and he can consider it harsh, but not surprising all the same.

If it is the managers fault as some are suggesting, should McEntee never play either of those lads again?

imtommygunn

There's never any objectivity round the discussion though - it's kind of pointless. Team down to 14 and then when the team can least afford to lose a player another player gets himself sent off and it's the manager's fault and no player to blame at all. Manager can be faulted for things no bother but it's nearly like if it's raining it's his fault...

Onto football... We could be in bother in this division though always felt we could. We need to beat Leitrim and if we don't we're in deep bother. No midfield isn't going to help but the hammerings Leitrim are taking if we don't beat them we have no business in the division. Hoping for a decent win.

ck

Very hard to tell from video angle what happened. Both would appear to be very silly but as I say the camera angle doesn't capture it all. 2 men were taken off in first half followed by 2 red cards which made things very difficult.

Leitrim are playing with a very young 3rd string team apparently with 18 players departed from last year (according to Sunday Indo) and injuries so it should be a straight forward win, anything but that and Andy is in huge relegation trouble.

Níl a fhios agam

I really dont understand how anyone could blame Andy for what happened at the weekend. In the greater scheme of things, i would say Andy has done a good job with the hand he was dealt. Not as if the best players in the county have made themselves all available to him, for gods sake its a team filled with BALLYMENA, ST.BRIGIDS AND GLENRAVEL MEN. What do we genuinely expect.... none of these lads, with the greatest of respect, are ripping up the club scene in Antrim with the exception perhaps of Jordan, McAleese and Walsh who always stand out for their clubs.

It is what it is...be better to invest in our underage heavily and see where that gets us in 10 years

These are his players though, the players he has chosen week after week.
The two incidents are similar in many ways. Is it conceivable two young players were sent out and encouraged to 'stand up for themselves and not to get bullied' or something along those lines and it then went wrong?

Níl a fhios agam

well look, in a one off incident i dont think manager can solely take the blame for heat of the moment stupidity. If the type of thing is happening on a weekly / biweekly basis then maybe we should be questioning what type of ethos is coming from the dressing room. Though to be fair, antrims disciplinary record isnt the worst.

I would have heard too many armagh men blaming mcgeaney for what forker done. So dont think Andy deserves the same.

Lastly, Andy is choosing these men is right... but is there anybody f*****g else available? Not a star studded bench to chop n change so again "IT IS, WHAT IT IS"
