Quote from: Truthsayer on February 01, 2025, 07:42:17 PMBit early to make that declaration. Second league game in February :)

The Derry game was a red herring. Tonight was the first proper test and it was the same type of display we've been watching since 2022.
Is players to come back... Armagh are All Ireland champions on top of their game playing at home.. I wouldn't get too demoralised... albeit defence needs some tighening

Think that should have been enough motivation to have got stuck into them a lot more instead of standing off them. How  many times did 3 or 4 Armagh players swarm us when we were in possession? Can't remember us doing the same.

Slow ponderous buildup along the 45 when you are 15 points down is a bit weird.

Could be hard to shake the last couple of years. Only game 2 new management

Embarrassing. Just plain embarrassing. Paying £18 to watch that rubbish.

To be that far behind, wind or no, at HT is an utter disgrace.

And McQuillan....plus ca change.....

Spot on, imo Porter can't correct 3 years (or however long Donnelly is away) of poor conditioning in 3 months, and down 3-4 Errigal lads that will start, however I do think that there need to be a cull of lads after the league, there is just a few of the same heads that have been there for all the tankings the last 3 years that aren't cut out for the speed and athleticism these new rules and to inject a ruthlessness that seems to be lacking

The only saving grace is that this is year 1, McGeeney has had a decade

Couple of take aways

- still the same issue as previous years with having little power runners
- anything happens Kennedy Tyrone are in trouble. He had his hands full dealing with Armagh big men and needs help
- Attacking play didn't happen tonight
- need more shooters. Mckernan happy to shoot but need more
- Armagh slick around both Ds, in defence and attack
- With all that have to keep in mind where Tyrone are at the moment and were able to keep at it and keep the score respectable
- r Brennan surely work his way in
- will be good match for Orourke to see the weaknesses

Give it a rest with the negativity after 2 games.

Going to take time and patience grom the fans. Issue with the new rules is that its done to whoever scores the most with a strong breeze.

Kierarn has had 10 years to build armagh,  believe it or not tyrone werent a million miles off them given the number of young lads on the team and seasoned players missing

May be a controversial opinion but I truly believe Brian Kennedy is the best midfielder in the country, and has been since 2021. Unfortunately Tyrone don't  have a second quality midfielder to partner him leaving him to carry our midfield by himself. That might sound harsh on Killpatrick who had a great year in midfield in 2021, but he hasn't been anywhere near that level since then and seems to be more of effective in the 11 or 14 role.

From what I've seen from Aodhán Donaghy in club football he may well be the answer but we haven't really seen him get that chance with the county yet.

In terms of the attacking side, I can't understand why mcelholm doesn't start over the likes of Cassidy. Especially with the 2 canavans not playing as it leaves us relying on mccurry alone for scores.

Frank burns and Kieran Mcgeary would struggle to start for the likes of Errigal or Trillick yet they somehow start for Tyrone over the likes of Rory Brennan, mcelholm and killpatrick.
