It's senior needs a good ridding out and clubs moved down not up.  Just under half the football clubs in Antrim play senior.

Round or stuffed

surely there'll be no more changes to the leagues, and if not, what will stop fixtures being produced more quickly than at the beginning of this year

erinsboy

I would be of the opinion that surely the leagues will need changed....
As it was stated in a previous post almost half the teams are playing senior football and our club standard is pretty poor also.
Can't see it happening but 8-10 team division one same division 2 and 3 with a junior B division 4 is what I would like to see.
2 up and down each year ,one through league and one through championship.
Pipe dream maybe!

Christ!! We are a tad early for the fixtures debate. Let's enjoy some turkey and festive fun

Did you put that motion to your committee?

They then put it towards the county at their meeting and it's discussed.

The only way it can work is when the clubs vote for it. Look at the clubs on this

I'm not saying this week, I'm saying there's no reason it should be 2 weeks out from the league like this year

It'll be out when it's out, the clamour to get the fixtures out as soon as possible mystifies me every year.

The fixtures are sent out to your clubs, it is them (clubs) that delay it due to their own agendas.

Why would clubs delay forwarding on fixtures to Senior Management out of interest?  Surely it is reasonable to ask for the fixtures to be forwarded in a timely manner so amateur players can arrange holidays with their families, stag parties or whatever else they may have going on when there is some downtime pencilled in during the season?

Basically clubs delay them actually means there's usually that many clashes and mistakes that it takes a pile of drafts to get them right.

Fixtures can be hard to appease everyone but I do think they need a bit more notice than a week or 2 out. Last season for example I know of a player who works Wednesday nights and with 2 weeks notice was told there was 6 Wednesday matches in a row coming up. All I think is with a bit more notice it would take the pressure off him to rearrange shifts. Amateur players after all so just a little bit of warning so they can get their work sorted and enjoy their football isn't too much to ask I don't think

Are you involved with clubs? committees and so on? Clubs decide if they are going to run a second team in the league, no managers are in place and numbers need to be looked at for whether its viable to run an extra team or team in promoted will it go up a league or if there is a last minute proposal and so on. Thats also not taking into account what the clubs activities it has set for it pitch each year and availability of its facilities.. I could go on, but I take it from your post that the county are holding them back for their own personal reasons?

I don't think anyone is being blamed. Just someone asking can the final fixtures be sent out in a more timely fashion.
That means everyone involved in the process (clubs, fixture committees etc) getting it sorted a bit quicker than last year.
I don't think that's a huge ask (it has been done countless times before) and I can understand why people prefer a bit of notice.

Not every request is a blame game or requires an argument.

I'm just saying that its not that simple in terms of throwing out the fixtures, there are many factors which for some reason every year holds things up. Again I've been down that road in many forms and frustrated at what would seem easy to do, but when you actually see why you can then better understand.

The club fixtures are sent to clubs for the first 4 -5 weeks about the same time they are published on the Antrim website!

The onus would be on the clubs to have done the groundwork early doors if they are entering a seconds team or not.  Do you think that clubs just decide on a whim at the end of January that they are entering a seconds team, if they do that's on them for being poorly organised and county board be well within their rights to tell them it's not happening this year.

I don't know why the county board in Antrim only release the fixtures two weeks before the first round of games?  I would expect that a well organised county board would have cut off points for entering new teams into the leagues and that would give the administrators ample time to create and release fixtures to the stakeholders in a timely manner.
