Taylor

Was delighted to see Bradley on the Ulster panel.

He would definitely be a huge help for us.

Hopefully these new rules will allow him to flourish.

Great to see him back. Be interesting to see how O'Rourke uses him. Interesting dynamic in having Darragh Canavan, Darren McCurry, Eoin McElholm, Mark Bradley and Ruairi Canavan all in the squad. All similar stature players and not exactly the template player for modern football or indeed O'Rourke who is more accustomed to playing the strong athletic running style player e.g. Kieran Hughes, Karl O'Connell, Conor McCarthy characters for Monaghan and his Glen team only really play Danny Tallon of that stature in the team.

Quote from: Mikhailov on October 16, 2024, 09:57:02 AMAny word on what is happening at county level? Very quiet on all fronts

Has trials started?
Or has a squad already been assembled?
Has MOR met the squad yet?
Are they training / S&C yet?

All very quiet despite the fact that everyone was delighted with the appointment

Maybe someone on here knows the story

Meeting this week coming I heard.

Frank Burns is definitely not a certain starter.

You are probably right but a solid player to bring on

Fullerton & McGarrity not impressive in the Championship at all for Carmen, probably due to the style of play adopted. T Murray and Munroe your most impressive performers

Christmas Lights

How far is Myler away? Hopefully see him back soon. Did he play much for Omagh this year?

2 or 3 Reserve games.

Jerome

What's with all the midget forward lines? Maybe there was a high restriction in the new rules, I haven't really followed.

Other than Paul Donaghy and McShane what other big options are there. And I personally have Paul and Cathal behind Darragh Canavan, Bradley, McElholm and McCurry and probably Ruairi to.

We do seem to produce a lot of forwards around the same height, even going back to Skeet, Ronan O'Neill etc
I don't see it as an issue myself, if you can run into space and claim a mark it's as effective as out-jumping a defender

What's the story with McGleenan, still long term injured? Wonder will he get a chance under ORourke

Wouldn't personally be looking McGleenan called up. Don't think he has the athleticism for it. Besides after a long lay off, a year for his club could be better for him.
Around the middle, Cathal Donaghy Loughmacrory could be called up, had a great year for his club.
