Quote from: Tyrone Gaa on June 12, 2024, 08:46:58 PMA lot of nice draws there and draw brackets. On paper Errigal look to have got as good a draw they could have hoped for. Whoever meets them in the semi final will have come through major battles

That was maybe part of their problem last season. Had a handy enough run to the final compared to Trillick and came up short.

Was talking to a Fianna supporter there and he thought they may have a few men suspended for their match after getting sent off in last years championship but couldn't remember if they were straight red cards.
McKernan and Devlin are suspended. Received straight red cards in extra time against Ardboe last year.

Clonoe would have to fancy their chances with those men missing.

Trillick setting sights on Ulster loopsided draw means they are in the final imo.

An Ulster title is in Eglishs hands...

They most likely play Dungannon in a Semi Final. A team they have a poor record against and a team that I would consider one of the three teams capable of putting together a run to win it.
The dark horses in that side of the draw are Loughmacrory and there would be nothing straight forward for Trillick against them considering how last year went and they now have Ruairi McCullagh added into their forward line.

I don't know about Dungannon. You've sort of been waiting on them to kick on from winning it in 2020 but just haven't really. I would have them well behind Errigal/Trillick.

What's the draw?

It will be interesting to see how much the new young players will impact the senior championship or will the experience heads still lead the way

There is a changing of the guard taking place in Tyrone when compared to 10 years ago when you had genuine contenders in Clonoe, Dromore, Errigal, Coalisland, Omagh, Killyclogher, Trillick. Coalisand and Clonoe have completely fallen away from being considered contenders. You would find very few who would consider Omagh or Killyclogher genuine contenders. Dromore are still there or there abouts but hit by a lot of emigration and the majority of their team is the wrong side of 30 at this stage. The likes of Ardboe and Galbally lack the forwards to break out as contenders. Edendork have shown their capability to win one off games but lack the team to put a run together to go and win it. Carrickmore getting to the 2022 final shows they are also there or there abouts but need to find a top level forward to have them as genuine contenders.
So really you are only looking at Trillick, Errigal and Dungannon as genuine contenders to win it outright and you are potentially look at new contenders emerging over this or the next few seasons in Loughmacrory and Donaghmore.

I wouldn't rule out Edendork from that quarter of the draw.

An Edendork v Dungannon semifinal would be tasty.

Are Trillick the new Errigal? Anonymously set them up as contenders so you can knock them for getting ahead of themselves when they don't reach your inflated level.
