Im going to guess rodgers will be given to christmas to  turn things around before he's shown the door. Needs to sign a marquee striker over the summer.

I don't know. The fact that morale was non-existent and the team clueless and clearly not playing for him over the past month is very worrying. The Stoke game was just the logical conclusion to the way it was going. Can he recover that authority with this group? I think a change would be best for all concerned.  And that's before you even think about transfer committees and the rest.

So who's available? What top striker would want to be at Anfield without CL football? Andy Carroll again?

Exactly, that's the problem. Maybe a manager like a Klopp or an Ancellotti would entice a top striker to come with no CL football, if they believe in the plan to get there, but I don't think Rodgers would.

Having said that, would Klopp or Ancellotti come without a major shake up in the way Liverpool does business?

It may be that the best bet is to keep Rodgers and hope he can make 4th next season, if the other options are just ho-hum or if the owners don't want to spend money at least until the stadium is done up.

And when I say spend money, I don't want to be unfair to FSG. They have spent quite a bit of money (albeit 75 million is from the sale of Suarez), but they've been buying a lot of players instead of paying the 50-60 mill for 1 great player. In a lot of ways that had to be done, the squad was threadbare last year. Players like Lovren, Lallana, Moreno, could still be effective players in a good team. But to push them to the next level they need 2-3 really top players in pivotal positions. Have they the will, or the enticements, to go after them is a different story.

Ancellotti has said he's taking a year out of football to get his neck sorted, has stenosis which causes narrowing of the spinal canal and compression of the nerves....has been losing sensation in his hands so needs the operation.

Benitez all but been confirmed for Real Madrid reports are saying...which is a surprise, his family still live on the Wirral which is across from Merseyside...so i would have thought City or Liverpool.

All depends on City with regards Klopp. If Pellegrini gets the chop, he could go there with Champions League football available.

Is it too much to hope that the next great Liverpool striker comes through from the youth team?

IMO, Marchisio is the best of the Juve midfield and would suit us perfectly but why would he leave juve???

Tom Cleverley is available but might be outside your price range if he has a decent FA Cup final.

Not at all, we love throwing millions at British players after a decent season. 20m cover it?

The lads seem to be having a good time on holidays judging by the video doing the rounds.

They'll likely get a load of grief but what odds, they entitled to a break and having a bit of craic. If anything it shows a bit of team spirit that was missing in the last few months, I wonder who isn't on holiday with them that has changed the mood  ;)

They are probably as relieved as anyone else that the season is over. I hope they are not celebrating the season itself though, or think it was good in any way.

Ah but can they do it on a sunny Sunday in Stoke is the real question?

They'd have been as well swapping places with a few of supporters as they better singers than footballers!
