I read on one of the LFC forums that the EPL have stated that there will be no minute silence at any of the games for Thatcher.  Says it all really.

She wouldn't want it herself I'd imagine!

I'm not suggesting that should matter by the way.

Whether she would've wanted it or not the fact that she's not getting one is sending out the message that the old bitch was hated by most "ordinary" people. My wife was in an old peoples home when the news came through and she said the old folk cheered and clapped.

I don't think any leader of a developed country was as despised by so many of their own people as the "Whore of Babylon".

She hated soccer, and everyone who followed it. Her regime was one that treated all supporters as hooligans.

Might have a few £ on goals galore tonight.

Starting teams

De Gea; Rafael, Rio, Jones, Evra; Young, Carrick, Giggs, Welbeck; Rooney, Van Persie

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy, Barry, Y Toure, Milner, Silva, Nasri, Tevez

No Vidic or Evans & United's form in the last few games has been poor. City should be able to pull off result.

Man Utd's Premier League record when both Van Persie and Rooney start the game is P16 W15 D1 L0

On the upside, thatcher is still dead.

How did Giggs stay on? United have been very poor since Madrid 1st leg.

Funny seeing Nasri clapping the city fans at the end, like he actually cares.

Another poor performance. united have been bollix since the Madrid game at OT. sooner the league is over the better. Doesnt say much for the rest in England if this utd team are 12 pts clear.  Giggs in centre midfield , crazy decision to play a 40 yr old there. Young not a utd player. Welbeck over rated 1 league goal all season,. 2 midfielders required.

When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

So first league defeat since November. With some of the recent performances that defeat was coming. City scoring twice (3 if you want to count the United goal) from few chances created was impressive but i can't help feeling if Vidic was playing Aguero wouldn't have got in as easy for the winner.

Stoke (a)
West Ham (a)
Aston Villa (H)
Arsenal (a)
Chelsea (H)
Swansea (H)
West Brom (A)

Looking at the remaining fixtures United in their current poor form will drop plenty of points but they should get the 10 points to win league.

I'm astounded they are 12 pts clear. The Premier League is as poor as it's ever been.

There isnt really anything wrong with old trafford atmosphere. It is raised for the big games like tonight or Madrid. United fans almost expect to win against the smaller tripe like west ham southampton liverpool etc so they sit and wait in expectation like any big club. I have been to many a big game at old trafford and never experienced anything like it.

Don't know how anyone would be astounded? United are twelve clear because they won twenty five games to Manchester City's nineteen.
