   European football's governing body has threatened legal action over Fifa president Gianni Infantino's failed plan to carve out a $20bn commercial entity from the Swiss non-profit and sell a 20 per cent stake to private investors.

In a letter addressed to Infantino, Uefa warned it was "actively considering legal action, arbitration, and/or regulatory complaints" in relation to the world's governing body's proposal to raise more than $4bn from selling shares in a new entity that would have housed Fifa's commercial rights.

The stake-sale plan, first revealed by the FT on Tuesday, rocked football and provoked a wave of criticism before Infantino backed down on Friday and said the proposal "will not proceed".

The climbdown followed days of mounting pressure from across football and beyond, with Uefa joined by other football federations, politicians and fans in their rejection of the venture. The about-turn also leaves the Fifa president vulnerable ahead of an election next year.

St Endas clear favourites for the IFC. If they don't win that, it'll be a serious failure although at least they are in Div 2 now and playing in the IFC unlike the time they did a Rossa and played intermediate whilst in Div 1.

Aldergrove don't have the discipline. Good enough outfit for intermediate. They can be horrible on the pitch and that always leads to indiscipline with them. I hope they dont get past the group.

St Theresa's are probably done now. If a Gort team are beating them, they're done.

Gort are too young and not ready yet. Some good players but theyre soft behind all the smicky music.

Glenavy always tidy and always in for a chance. Probably the team I'd like to win it the most. Never any shit out of them. Good people and a good enough team who on their day could win it.

St Colmgalls are the dark horses if you ask me. Good gritty team and well coached by Mr Burns.

Desertmartin and Banagher best game of the weekend I'd say. Banagher just pipping it at the end, odd seeing Murray at 11 tracking up and down the pitch.

Newbridge should have stuck with the first keeper not sure what that was about. I thought the sub keeper was usually a coach for them? Anyway all sorts go on this time of year. Plenty of absences for Glen starting to wonder if some of them aren't coming back at all

If the chosen referee decides to bring the ball up lots of times, there is going to be a reason.

deliberately missing the point, theres no interaction with absolutely anyone at any club.

How does that help with building any sort of respect. Used to be before underage games refs came in had wee word with two squads on things he would be particularly pulling people on. Takes seconds to say who committed a foul and what they seen.

Keep going the way we are going you'll breed a generation of robots who can't show any emotion on the pitch for fear of a reprimand. Players are allowed to be frustrated if a free is given against them, its an immediate reaction. Its the secondary reaction that I issue with, thats what the rule should be clamping down on.


And if you don't give a fiddlers fcuk, sure don't comment..I don't give a fiddlers fcuk about screening but its bee in your bonnet.

This certain referee may have done up to 4/5 games that week. It's not up to them to make small talk. They may have travelled up to 45 minutes to get there after/before work and make the return journey. Darting and diving to fulfill the fixture,because by the looks of it, the county needs every available referee. They may not have seen their family that day and may be getting back an unreasonable hour.

I agree its a completely thankless job and always remember that when they are refereeing games theres a fair chance their club is playing somewhere else so they miss that also.

There are numerous young refs in Derry and having took underage teams find them very approachable lads, but the old guard you are hinting of is just streaming with arrogance at times. Players are going to be frustrated with decisions and feeling show, verbal abuse it obviously not the be tolerated but verbal disappointment isn't banned yet.

When the new rules were introduced I do think it made massive difference in respecting refs, but I do think respect is a two way street.
Shouting, dictating and gesturing to players about fouls or making them stand for a scolding and a yellow card is schoolyard stuff, and won't help.

The Referee in question is Notorious for moving the ball forward,this has been going on for years. So I find it mind boggling why players and management even attempt to speak back to him. Tbh I find him to be the most consistent Referee in Derry as you know what you are going to get with him and there is no back doors with him

Can't agree with that at all. When you see a referee park in the closest space to the gate, doesn't use the changing room supplied. Speaks to absolutely nobody pre match, at half time and leaves immediately.
He know himself firstly theres a high chance of controversy and secondly that people will potentially blame him.

Thats not normal for the vast majority of refs in Derry. Arrive early don't leave straight away give an opinion on the game. Referees are GAA men like the rest of us and I genuinely don't think theres any out with a dislike for individual clubs.
The ref in question gets very little respect, he shows absolutely no respect to players. Coming to a game speaking to nobody and going home again for £40 is a miserable way to spend an evening.

This sounds like another Personal attack to me. Imagine a Referee,after taking abuse for 60-65 minutes not wanting to hang around for another 15-30 and take more abuse for some of the decisions he made. Especially from people who think like you! In most games there is a level of controversy of some kind so why would you hang around. And as Stickman says,we don't know what these Referee's lifestyle is like so if they come kitted out that is their choice. But £40 wouldn't motivate me to do it,that is a definite.

couldn't care less what you think it sounds like, I named nobody. Fill your boots with assumptions.

I don't abuse refs and contrary to what the narrative is, theres no controversy when a good ref is involved.
