The new county manager has meet with the top table, he wants the league structures to remain as is, thus very little pressure on county players to turn out in league games for their clubs. The issue is this current system , while suiting inter county football, is making a shambles of our club game,  16 team div 1!

Having played against both mg and sars this season I'd have to sat Sarsfields are the stronger set up, more physical and cynical than mg which will count in the heavier conditions this time of year

I remember reading somewhere earlier in the year that said group toppers would get home advantage for quarter finals, havent heard it again since though so assume its not true.

St Brigids pitch would not be capable of hosting a quarter final anyhow unfortunately for different reasons.

MADINE, THE DOWN FULL FORWRD, SCORED 3 GOALS IN A 6 MINUTE SPELL HALF WAY THROUGH THE FIRST HALF, WHAT A TALENT HE LOOKS. ANTRIM PLAYED RESONABLY WELL BUT WERE TOOTHLESS UP FRONT IN THE FIRST HALF. ALOT OF CHANGES AT THE BREAK CERTAINLY HELPED STRENTHEN THINGS AND THE BALL STUCK ALOT BETTER UP FRONT. A FAIR FEW LADS GOT A START WHO HADDENED IN THE PREVIOUS GAMES BUT NONE REALLY STOOD OUT. THE BIG GAME FOR THESE LADS IS THE "b" QUALIFIER IN A FEW WEEKS.

Lack of discipline costs us again. Last week it was Andys sideline rant that got the ball moved 50 metre in the dying minutes to cost us a point and this week 2 reds.

Fionn Nagle had a decent debut, a bit more confidence to take on his man and the big lad would be hard to stop. Ryan murray very rusty but only to be expected with a long time out. Hand & Stewart were good in midfield if a bit too casual at times with passing. Solo and go added to the game, the 3 man up rule got us a free when we badly needed a score, other than that it wasnt much of a day for football.
Fermanagh will be much tougher oppostion on Sunday at Ederney.
