Plenty of city based clubs struggling for numbers as well as their country cousins. I think its a good initiative, should mean a game every week , and stop this cycle of postponing games because of holidays etc that then never get played. Plenty of clubs won't be affected by this, but in the lower reaches of the div2 and div3 juvenile ranks this is a great idea.

Marty, you have to have some level of optimism at the start of every new season surely ?

Carlow better organised than us, had an efficient game plan, used the ball better, created 2 points scoring opportunities for fun and took plenty of them. Ran through our middle for the goal and similar when getting the penalty.
I had huge expectations for us. That was grim .

Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on January 12, 2026, 04:55:30 PMI think we reached our ceiling under Gleeson possibly 3 years ago?

Gleeson got huge commitment and buy in from players and ran a very tight ship. The powers that be made a huge mistake letting him go.

I thought the team did reasonably well as much superior opposition yesterday. Oisin Doc put in a great shift as did conor s, and sean o'n and ronan looked good when introduced. Still very light in natural scoring forwards, plenty of endeavour but little true quality, hopefully enough to get us out of Div4.
