Even money both teams according to Sky Bet.I would fear for Armagh if they win and have to face Monaghan

No need to fear. We won't be beating Down.

The people of the 26 Cos won't be voting on any All Ireland set up until AFTER you lot in the 6 Cos vote to leave the Disunited Kingdom or whatever combination with England and Wales if Scotland has broken free by then.
Voting against letting PSNI members join the GAA isn't very "United Ireland friendly".

I only brought the rule 21 vote to elaborate on where cork lies on the support of their brothers in the north
Your views on the security forces in the north around the time of the vote is of no interest to anyone up here as you where not subjected to their tyranny and collusion

Different times now in fairness but back in 98 it was very very raw

As for the timming of an all Ireland referendum would you stop stating the obvious

"back in 98 it was very very raw"
You cant have it both ways. Release of several murderers under the GFA but wont let Catholic police play Gaelic games. How raw do you think release of murderers were for victims families? G.S.

And how many catholic police officers were there? Not too many. Not only that, but any catholic who did join the police knew the risks they were taking, whether they played GAA or not.

And how did the families of collusion victims feel when no officer was prosecuted for being involved in the murder of their loved ones? How did they feel knowing same officers were still in the force, and probably still are? YOU can't have it both ways either!

Her political equal, the person with whom she is supposed to be working towards sharing power, the person who put out her hand at the funeral of Martin McGuinness for her to shake, the leader of Nationalism and Republicanism in the six counties.

She is asked to describe her in one word.

'Blonde'.

For any of you 26 county people trying to get a handle on us up here, just remember this one.  Put it along with her calling of Irish speakers 'crocodiles', the fact that she is the leader of a party that is homophobic, believes the world to be 5000 years old, lives in a constituency that is already on the periphery because of its border location and stands to lose catastrophically due to Brexit, yet she still voted for it...

Worse than the worst days of GUBU.

Being against gay marriage is not homophobic.

I wondered what you were on about, somehow I had missed this one. It's hall of infamy stuff.

What a tool. He obviously watched too much of Paisley and the Unionist politicans over the years, with their SF/IRA crap.

He'd know a load about the North, coming from his priviledged Dublin Upbringing.

Watched the Vancouver concert last night on YouTube
It's like a tribute act in concert
Bono of course spouting the usual shite about poverty etc although I have yet to hear him donate his fortune.
Mind you he could give the poor plenty of advice on tax avoidance

That'd be more useful than his Making Poverty History crap.

Jaysus fair play to that Bono. He hasn't changed a bit in the 30 years since The Joshua Tree was released. The man hadn't a grey hair in his head.

Neither had the Edge!   ;)

Actually, The Edge has the edge. He's youngest, so less chance of grey hairs.

At least it makes a change from the usual karaoke tripe. And sung in their own language, which should be the rule.

Anyway, it wasnt a patch on Dick Byrne's number.

Armagh were the previous year's Ulster Finalists and Down were also fairly high in the ratings too.It might have been a poor game in 1991 but both Armagh and Down going into the game were genuine contenders for the Ulster Championship that year.

Neither had won Ulster for the previous 8 years though. Neither were really contenders.

Down winning Sam in 91 was as surprising as Leicester winning the Premier League.

He visits the North and he visits the South. Who gives a feck?

What does it mean for ordinary Joe at the end of the day?

Means the tax payer put out half a million euro for security on the Kilkenny visit alone, for someone of absolutely no importance or ability to benefit the Irish people.
Not necessarily. I understand Sligo and Mullaghmore saw a significant increase in UK tourist numbers after his last visit there.

Spoke to a few English folk last summer in Mullaghmore. Presumably came because Cathal was there. Never really asked them.

Yep. Spot on.

Even though the GAA is an all Ireland organisation, the vote on Rule 21 should only have happened in the 6 counties.
Why? Dont they play games against the 26 county teams? Maybe the six county teams would prefer to spend their time playing with themselves, something you would know about

Your post explains why I said what I said in my original post.

Time to bury that oul chestnut.
Set up ye're own partitionist 6 Cos GAA if ye wish.

I suppose the RUC brutality and harrassment was pretty bad in Roscommon alright.
