in fairness mayo have been very competitive in the league for the last good few years and after a dreadful start finished it out quiet well this year .

I actually agree with that, we're not that far away but it's going to take a hell of a lot of effort to bridge the gap to Kerry/Tyrone/Cork

A simple example is last year's AI Minor final. The Tyrone lads apparently had 2 jerseys, one to play in and say swop at the end and the other to keep. Not a big thing and makes no difference to how good the players are but a sign of how the CB treat their players.

I'm not sure that there are many better corner backs in the county. KMcL maybe. If our defenders aren't good enough, we have to play a sweeper. That said, when you lose at midfield, it puts serious pressure on the backs and it's hard for them to look anyways good.

This is a very young team and we need to give them a chance. If we're honest, a Connacht title was what we wanted at the start of the season, the fact that we lost to an unfancied Meath team doesn't change that.
