If they had positioned a defender inside each post at corners then the Norwich goal would have been prevented.

And if the premier league had decent officials who did their jobs, Liverpool  would be on 1 point instead of 8!

Don't worry lads, Lawro says things are looking up:

The so called "imrpoved performance" came about not because of what Rodgers did but because of who the opposition were. FSG have to have feelers out for Klopp or Ancelotti. Once one of them agree to take the job Rodger's is gone. If neither of them want it then it's going to be a long long season.

If you consider the last few games of last season and put them with the start to this season Liverpool are actually in relegation form.
They haven't scored more than one goal in 10 games apparently and have only won something like 4 out of their last 18 or 19 games.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

It would be a serious gamble for either of these men to take on Liverpool in their present state.

As others have said, who cares about another two years? Bar signing another Suarez, Liverpool have NO pathway to a title as things stand.

When you look at what Man City paid for Sterling, Barca ripped Liverpool off.

More a case of Liverpool ripping City off I think. The whole player price thing has got mental.

The result against Stoke ain't looking as hot as it did at the time either.

Bingo

Liverpool are on the road to no town under Rodgers.

Its not just the result which are poor, its everything. They haven't progressed under Rodgers in 3 plus years, had one serious shot at the title but blew it and its hard to make a case that at the time the players who made it happen - Sterling, Sturridge and Suraez - are no longer there or are damaged.

What bugs me is the constant changing formations and players. He doesn't seem to know what Plan A is never mind have the confidence in himself to impose it. How can the players have trust in him or his selections when he doesn't himself?

Transfer policy, handling of players, removal of coaching staff etc etc. Everything just seems totally unsettled.

We need a man in with big balls and who isn't afraid to kick down doors and make things happen. Rodgers seems happy to be Liverpool manager rather than really know how to make himself a Liverpool great.

No direction from the sideline whatsoever and no sense of team ethic.  The stupid thing though is though that had there been a few inches either way and they could have had 2-3 goals yesterday.  Coutinho should have squared it,  if it had been DS rather than Ings he would have.  Milner's shot from Moreno's ball in the first half.

The thing is though that there are positives from yesterday.  Moreno and Sakho in the defence.  Ings and Firmino when they came on.  Ings is a real possible cult figure,  Bellamy/Kuyt like.  Personally speaking I would play this team in the near future.

Mings

Clyne  Skertl  Sakho  Moreno

Lucas  Can

  Coutinho

DS  Benteke/Ings   Firmino

I think Milner has been poor in the last few games.  He can run a lot but is limited on the ball.  He should never, ever take another set piece.  Why the f**k was Coutinho not hitting the corners,  SG all over again.  Benteke and Ings are interchangeable and offer different options.  Benteke is still not fitting in but he is getting very little support or supply.  Clyne and the 2 CBs should be sitting and Moreno should be flying forward and whipping in the ball like he did yesterday.  He needs Can or Lucas to slot into the hole he leaves though.

Genuine question at what point do Liverpool start to think of replacing BR?

If they keep on the current trend of form etc does he make it to the summer window next year?

BR won't see Christmas in the Liverpool hot seat.

That kinda sums up things with Rodgers. You can excuse the odd poor ball or trying a change on the field during the game but these decisions should be made clear and called by the manager. He seems to be play along to the senior captain figures and let them make the call. Its not that along ago that we had two players arguing over a penalty kick. No fear at all of the dressing room when out on the field.

I'd don't think Benteke is fit or getting proper support. My fear is that Rodgers doesn't seem to have a plan to get the best of him. Might change with Sturridge but he had a similar type of forward (not at same level...yet anyway, maybe never) in Ings but rather than getting the team playing this type of football all year, is he now going to change tact again and try a system to play Sturridge and Benteke up top? Or have Sturridge out wide?
