General discussion / Re: MTV EMAs

The haters on this thread are disgusting IMO.  The country has the chance to host one of the most globally recognised music events in the world by MTV, but yet, people here still want to moan and complain that its getting too much publicity.  What do you people want?  Isn't it better here than somewhere else, at least its something positive.

Typical attitude of people in this country to moan and find fault with something positive.
Narrow, small minded idiots on this thread who are moaning.

Pessimists - you can go to hell.

Linux is just the operating system that runs how the computer works.  Its is not Microsoft so Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc won't work, you just get packages that are similar and do the same job.

The benefit of Liinux for internet use is that you wouldn't need Anti Virus ware or is that just an urban myth?

Why dont people use this rather than Microsoft products then?  Is this Linux stuff free to download or what?

Derrytresk v Eire Og in Casement before the Cross/Ballinderry game. A Tyrone/Armagh double bill.

Derrytresk have come a long way since about 5 years ago.  They where the strongest team in Tyrone at one stage because they where propping up the county  :P  Where has it all went right for Derrytresk?
Is this them in the semi final stage of Ulster?

EC Unique I urged you to delete your post not to defend yourself and come up  with nonsense on why you felt it was appropriate to write what you did,For a second time I urge you to delete your post and after you have done that the rest of us who commented on your horrible post will do likewise and save a young mans character from being belittled and one funny enough who has connections from your region. Now at once do the decent thing and delete it alongside any further posts linked to it.

I think you may be over-reacting a bit in fairness  :-\

didnt take long for eugene to start handing out yellows.

Credit where credit is due, I thought he had a very good game to be fair.  He kept control of it throughout and let it flow rightly.

how did it go boycey?

It didn't really.. I was hoping someone else might explain it better  :). After a round and half of sizing each other up Dawson ducked under Hopkins as he came forward and dumped him on the floor with a throw. It looked innocuous enough but Hopkins said he couldn't continue, replays suggest he may have hurt his shoulder. Anyway after 10 mins of mayhem the decision is announced and the assumption is that it'll be a no contest but the ref declared Dawson the winner by tko ruling there was no foul. Cue more mayhem

Have my suspicions about how hurt Hopkins actually was but there's no way on earth the ref can say it wasn't a foul. Sam Warburton would have been proud!

What do you mean about how hurt Hopkins was?  He landed on his elbow, thus probably popping his shoulder joint out.  The replay clearly shows that.

Against Slovakia - Ireland looked the away team

It looks like its going to be the same here, Armenia owning the ball with some nice triangle passing.  Why do Ireland look so technically bad to other teams?

Ireland - conceding majority possession in every game they play

Another dire game ahead of us.  We should be winning these games but I feel we will have to take a draw.  1-1 which will see us into the playoffs.

Thats highly negative!!  We need to be beating Armenia at home in fairness.
We are a bad side to watch though, play a horrible style of soccer.  I dont understand with the way Ireland play that Rory Delap doesnt get game time  ??? Is he even in the squad?

GAA Discussion / Re: The Kerry Championship

Are we really going to go through all this again? :D

County Championship is for Senior Clubs + Divisional Sides made up of non-Senior Clubs.

Club championship is at Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Novice levels, and is open to clubs only, at their respective grades.

Munster Club Championship representatives are the longest lasting Club team in the County Championship.*

I think the Kerry Championship format is one of the main reasons why Kerry consistently produce good teams. Good players on Junior clubs are exposed to better players (with and against) and this prepares them better for Inter County Football. The amount of players on that team that come from Intermediate and Junior Clubs must be huge in relation to the rest of the country.

* It used to be that the winners of the Club Championship represented Kerry in the Munster Club if a Divisional Side won the County. That was changed a few years ago to the current scenario of longest lasting Club Team in the County Championship.

My head hurts!  Surely the divisonal teams have an unfair advantage over an actual one club team? No?

Anyone who spends are sort of money on a halloween costume is a madman.  Go into Asda Living or one of those pound shops, they have all you need.  I got a grim reaper outfit and facepaints for about a tenner.

Not big into dressing up but its all in a night craic

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone Club Football and Hurling

Congrats to Dromore on reaching the final today.  A lot of people I was speaking to fancied Omagh for some reason  :-\
I never had a doubt myself that Dromore would defeat Omagh today.  Colly McCullaugh and Ricey are probably the two best club players in Tyrone so its a hell of a start to any team!

Clonoe vs Dromore should be another barnstormer of a game.  I couldn't call that one!!

Also, any reports of the intemediate reserve final before the Omagh / Dromore game today as I missed it but a few people where saying it was a very good game?  I see their is a right few Kildress posters here so maybe they can enlighten us.
