Hurling Discussion / Re: The dual player

its just harder to do it at the highest level.

but i would encourage anyone to play both. i managed juvenile teams in hurling for years, while i had 15 to pick from the footballers had development teams from under 8 up!!!

we've had a great year as a Dual Club but fear the hurling will lose out on our footballers trying to get back to Croke Park again (at some point)

Mangers should realise that the dual player needs between both teams, if he's good enough let him play

Utd has weathered the storm (ha) and seem to be applying more pressure Rooney missed a sitter!!

Fletcher is everywhere, playing good football and showing up Carrick who's anonymous

Anyone know if Kevin McGourty will be returning to the Antrim squad?

Has he been asked?

very difficult to do it at club level nevermind county level.

we had a great season on both fronts but only came away with one title! our players are burnt out and tired at the minute, they could do with a season off!!

Niall McKeever, while being excellent in a number of games last year, was found wanting in the mobility stakes in the Tyrone game and to me he was the one should have been marking John.

Our midfield should be significantly more mobile this year so hopefully that won't be as big a problem. Or we could always just foul him at the half way line and rotate the players that foul him so we get no sendings off...

Antrim teams and in particular your present county champions are very well versed in that practice.

don't you mean current All Ireland Champions? it's been a Tyrone Armagh tactic that has worked well for us ;)

I wouldn't advise it.
