GAA Discussion / Re: All Ireland tickets

Don't see this levy mentioned anywhere but may have missed it

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-foyle-west-19645927

Personally I don't like this, ok it is expensive to run a county team but it is also expensive to follow one, and I don't think it is right that when the ball is at the County Boards foot  :P they take advantage by increasing the price of the ticket.
Although the money is going to upkeep of team, is there much difference from the tout making money on ticket?
And those supporters buying outside the County will not be paying this levy

Can't help but wonder had the game not been played opposite an All Ireland semi final would there have been a better crowd

Not looked at my profile in ages, registered July 7th 2008 and listed as a newbie assume because not posted often enough to suit whatever program used to decide lol
But on county identity think there might be a hint in  my user name  8)

Would all the teams that fancy their chances at a Club All Ireland title now be hoping an Armagh team beat Cross in Armagh County Championship, or would it not feel as good an achievement to win it without meeting Cross at some stage.
(Not that any team from Armagh who were capable of beating Cross wouldn't prove a hard nut to crack)

GAA Discussion / Re: Railway cup returns!

Didn't see any TV cameras on top of the Drumarg side stand where they usually are, so unless they hidden away somewhere game may not have been videoed at all.

Someone remarked to me that it was "a (expletive deleted) discrace that there wasn't any TV cameras there". Hopefully it was recorded by someone.
