QuoteCant understand this, he jumped on the band wagon so he may as well go the whole way and pick up his medal,

It is obvious to most ppl of clear vision that SO'N did not jump on the bandwagon.  If he was a bandwagon jumper he would have wanted both the glory & the medal.  Fact is he wanted neither but instead having been approached simply offered his services if the panel felt they needed him to get past Kerry to win another AI.    His quiet demeanour would make him about as likely a bandwagonner as someone like Francie Bellew.

Francie doesn't jump on bandwagons, he walks out in front of them and stops them.  He then proceeds to demolish them with his bare hands.  All people on the bandwagon are left with no means of transport.  Francie is happy.

all i was saying was it doesnt really matter a f**k to anyone wheather he gets a medal or not, its a personal thing, it is not going to effect anyone one or the other, but to come on the bbc and say im not going to accept a medal, he is trying to make himself out be the martyr,

Prehaps we should all watch the interview before passing comments on it. I mean it could be a normal interview and this is one small part which the BBC has taken upon themselves to highlight.

Well, anything that causes a stir in the GAA I suppose.

Well he hardly went on the BBC of his own free will. It probably came up from something they asked him and the BBC have highlighted it like someone said.

From the outside looking in he seems like a decent spud who feels embarassed to have been offered an AI medal after playing a fraction of a game. He does this because he feels it's not about him rather than what some people seem to be implying here where he thinks it is about him.

No, I'm not a Tyrone man either...

SidelineKick

I agree he does seem sound, but why doesn't he just bloody take it. He's bound to have known it would get reported so to save any hassle he should have accepted it and stuck it in a drawer (or on ebay).

No one would have raised any sort of issue with him taking it in the first place without all this balls!

well sure watch the interview and then come back an tell us if you still think his goal is martyrdom!

whats it to you whether he picks up his medal or not?  What business is it of yours or anyone else's? What debate is there ? If this what you call a topic for discussion, i'd hate to consider something you don't consider worthy of discussion.
