Why would anyone in Tyrone have a chip on their shoulder concerning the big game bottlers of armagh???

I honestly believe that if SON had stayed with  the squad through the entire summer then we would not have won our third. master stroke, took the pressure off himself, lowered expectation on the team and quietly reached the 1/4s. Blew dublin team off the croke park hinges, blitzed wexford in the first half and powered our way to the third!!!

a lot of people should hang their heads over this issue. looking back through the tyrone club website there was a lot of boys who used the SON branch to beat at Harte. One in paticular in here, who should really be over on the hoganstand website. at the time there were some rumours circulating and some of it was badly out of line!!!

I have the utmost respect for Steven O'Neill both as a person and as a player, but i do not understand why he felt the need to tell everyone in the country that he will not be accepting his medal !! Why not just not accept it and say nothing!!

The value of Ulster titles is very far from what it used to be

The fact that you have made shows that out of 7 Ulster titles Armagh only have one All Ireland. What does this tell you?

Back in January when he made his decision, Had SON known that Tyrone would have been contesting the All Irelnad Final, do you honestly think he would have made the same decision?

What's your point? Theres not a player in the country who would retire in January if they knew for a fact they'd be in an All-Ireland final later that year. There's no way you can know how the team will do later in the year. I always felt sorry for the couple of Derry boys that called it a day just before 1993, or the Armagh lads that retired before the 99 Ulster breakthorugh and I think Pascal Canavan retired in 2002, and its not really fair that someone who was a servant to Tyrone for so long would miss out on an All-Ireland medal.

As for SON, I really hope he changes his mind and takes the medal. I can't guess the man's feelings, but its something that most people would surely regret later in life. He played in the final and set up the goal, he has earned his medal. It doesn't matter that he wasn't there all year and for whatever reasons he wasn't (although Tyronies on here saying there was no fall-out with MH are diluding themselves, but it doesn't matter), he played his part in the final and earned a medal.

It'll make for an interesting quiz questions in the future though. How many Ulster men have 3 All-Ireland Senior medals and who has won 3, but only has 2 medals?

Btw I think its 25 Ulster men with 3 All-Ireland medals.
