Wasn't John Curley, who died suddenly this week, a Harps man, or am I way off?  He used to be when I kicked about the town.  He'd be in Devlins from time to time.

Can't speak for John himself but I would assume that would have been where his loyalties lay, as younger brother Mickey played up to Senior. I think John was out of Armagh for some considerable time.

Sympathies to the Curley family at this time - May John Rest In Peace.

This Saturday evening (2nd April),  Armagh Harps will hold the Dedication Ceremony in memory of John Darragh for the new pitch which is currently being developed at Abbey Park.

John, a loyal Harps supporter and member of the victorious minor team of 2002, passed away in July 2009 at the age of 24, following a long illness and the new pitch will bear his initials.

As an acknowledgement of John's life, the 2002 and 2003 Harps minor teams will play each other in Abbey Park and every member of the 2002 and 2003 Harps minor squads are encouraged to participate.

The match will begin at 7.30pm on Saturday, before which Father Rory Coyle will bless the JD pitch.  Afterwards, entertainment will be provided in the Harps Social Club.

Everyone is very welcome to attend this Saturday, with a special invitation extended to all those who knew John.

Armagh Cúchulainns

Good to see a local club detailed in Gaelic Life last week.
A few points

- Was the contents of the article edited or cut down as there seeemed to be very little on the work of the ladies within the club
- Some of the photos looked great and were worthy of inclusion but others looked poor and rushed.

Just wondering as we may look into doing this in the future
Its all about the Hurling.
