Favourite comic strips/magazine from your childhood

My all time favourite comic book was defiantly Roy of the Rovers..
Billy Boots and Hot shot Hamish being among my favourite comic strips...

RLL you have stirred some memories with this one. Roy of the Rovers was a must read when i was a wee lad, Goalkeeper was also a great story, I have 100's of these in my attic somewhere. The old Monthly was also a great one to collect as they used old strips from the archives.

I always loved the numbskulls from Beezer (I think also)

And Goalkeeper too..He had a little skeleton as a good luck charm didn't he ?

Always bought The Beano, The Dandy and Buster.

Best comic strip though is Calvin and Hobbs. Anybody every read thes? Brilliantly funny.

Also the Cyanide and Happiness comic strip thats on the internet is great to pass away the time. Can be found here.

Think so, he was always being compared to his late Father Gordon who died young in a car accident, the old man played for Scotland but Junior played for the Auld Enemy in the end up.

would have read the beano and dandy as well myself, but as i grew up i really got into the super hero comics from Marvel and DC, but never really got into the football/sport ones!

I remember the first Roy Of The Rovers, I think it came free with a sticky rosette and an assortment of letters to make up your favourite team.

Wow! Whoopee comic that's a 'memory stirer'. Was Mustapha the guy that tried to get rid of his money every week, but some freak event would make him a millionaire again?

Hot shot hamish, billy's boots, Roy Race all great memories. I always thought Roy Race and Kerry Dixon were the same person :-)

Definitely Roy of the Rovers. Mighty Mouse, Charlie 'the Cat' Carter, Hot Shot Hamish, Wee Wally Campbell, Blackie Grey and games against Everpool

Class stuff. I have a pile of those comics from the 70s at home. Probably worth money now. They are all packed in a suitcase
