Kearns' club-mate to referee Leinster final
04 July 2007

Surprise has been expressed at the appointment of Kerry referee Aidan Mangan to take charge of Sunday week's Leinster SFC final between Dublin and Laois.

Mangan hails from the Austin Stacks club in Tralee, the same club that Laois manager Liam Kearns played for, and this has prompted some Dublin supporters to question his appointment.

One of the most experienced referees in the game at the minute, Mangan previously took charge of Dublin's drawn All-Ireland quarter-final with Tyrone two years ago, and was also the 'man in the middle' when Laois – then managed by Mick O'Dwyer – beat the Metropolitans in the 2003 Leinster semi-final.

Are you saying that a Kerry referee cannot be totally impartial?

Before youse Jackeens on d'Hill start calling him a W*nker on Sunday as is part of your usual tirade to referees, maybe they should remember where he is from and his association to Kerins. You wouldn't want to be turning a referee against you now would you.

Will the game on Sunday be starting 15 mins late again ?

With the haul of cocaine found of Cork the dealers in Dublin will be left short so im sure the fans in Hill 16 will be early as they won't have to wait for their supply ;)

Kerry Mike - The day you bring enough supporters to fill Croke Park or any stadium for a first round match etc then you can slag about delaying matches... ;D

Would be fun Kerry playing Cork if a clubmate of Billy Morgan was reffing!!!!

But then the ref would be from Cork as well

liihb

How about Kerry play Galway and clubmate of Peter Forde was reffing?
Every time you open your mouth you have this wonderful ability to continually confirm what I think.

Kerry Mike

We would rise to the challenge. We have seen off Cork teams for years loaded with Nemo players and management, so a triffling matter of a biased referee will make no difference to the animals.

Ye should be more worried about bating Sligo first.
