Blowitupref

Worst thing about that loss was the PSG keepet looked poor and I don't think he would be capable of saving one unless it was kicked at him.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Quote from: rodney trotter on May 30, 2026, 08:09:26 PMThe penalty from Eze was worse. A stuttering run up trying to be clever and hits it wide

Both misses were from wanky run ups. Both trying to distract the keeper and ended up putting themselves off. High percentage of crap penalties still go in but you have to hit the target ffs- criminal stuff

There's a serious dislike for Arsenal about..

Was in the pub there for the penalties, not one person was cheering for the gunners.

Couldn't give a stuff personally but would have preferred them over PSG
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Same. It's not as if PSG are some underdog story. The Eze penalty was the biggest load of shite.

Yeah even the wife (no idea on sport) was wondering wtf was he doing

An absolutely horrible outfit, most teams who act like that own it, Arsenal drape themselves in pearl clutching b/s and scream about mistreatment at every opportunity. Honestly a penalty loss is the best thing because it'll convince them they are on the right track, a victory for football today.

Main Street

It was a tepid final, technocratic by arsenal rendering PSG neutered, but PSG overall are the outstanding team in Europe this year playing some scintillating football at least since the knock out stages began.

It's like they're trying to create a siege mentality with all the shithousery and gamesmanship plus that lego headed p***k in the dugout doesnt help with his always cheated, never defeated mentality in interviews.

I thought all managers created that mentality?

befair

Arsenal just parked the bus after that early goal; not one shot on target after that, very few shots even. Terrible game.
Thought PSGs keeper was quite astute to hold his ground, probably caused both misses.
The team that goes first wins shoot-outs 3/5 of the time, so that was a bit of luck for PSG

screenexile

It's ridiculous really they have assembled a group of quality players yet they play defensive shotty set piece football. Don't tell me Rice/Saka/Odegaard/Eze are happy playing like that!

If they'd played the way they're capable in the league they'd have won pulling up and could have really had a go at PSG but it was the same old risk averse park the bus try and nick one mentality.

They got what they deserved which is barely winning one of the poorer league titles!

tiempo

The referee gave some incredibly soft calls to PSG throughout the game, and blowing up for half time when Arsenal had a corner was ridiculous

PSG the better team, Arsenal v stout but papering over cracks at left wing and up front

Arsenal come a long way since the latter half of the Wenger era with a ton of misfits scrambling for 4th on the cheap, a lot of credit due to Arteta but he needs to evolve the team now to a more forward thinking outfit

That's the thing, an arsenal fan mate was getting totally pissed off with me last night for suggesting that they wouldn't have deserved it and that neutrals wouldn't be enamoured with a team that had one shot on target (maybe an insight into how the pennos were going to play out) and were wasting time from the 20th minute.
