Ye biased supporters are indeed allowed to seethe.
But so called experts shouldn't be going on 1 sided rants.

You know you're going to get a wee bit of bias from a Kerry/Dublin whatever pundit. Be worse if they went the other way to avoid being seen as biased like Neville in the soccer.

2 big games in a row now the marginal calls and blatant calls have went to Kerry.

We really could do with a separate thread for venting at officials and overanalysing decisions.

For this thread is pretty much unreadable at the minute.

Look-Up!

Didn't think ref was that bad myself. Umpire performance would have annoyed me if it happened to my team. If it went for my team I'd be very happy with the defender on the no goal. Luck definitely was with the winners especially the other goal chance that rebounded onto crossbar. Dublin definitely had the chances despite the umpires.

How I've laughed at the meltdown from some pundits and ex Dublin players, didn't want to know 2 weeks ago when David Gough rode Galway from start to finish. Paul Flynn should be banished from the Sunday Game for his nonsense.

At the start of the match there was an incident similar to the penalty, except much softer, where O Cofaigh-Byrne turned into a Kerry player and fell over resulting in a 2 pointer for Dublin.

Sean O'Shea was taken out of it with a late sliding tackle as he offloaded the ball - no free.

A lineball for Kerry ended up overturned for a phantom free to Dublin.

Scully attacked 2 Kerry players on his way out from the Kerry goalline clearance. At a minimum, 2 yellow cards.

Any of these dodgy Dublin decisions discussed by any of the Sunday Game pundits or any other pundits? Of course not, that'd be balanced punditry.

Not quite the same thing. Dublin got done by the officials. Just did. Whataboutery isn't relevant.

We take our beating and move on, but we are entitled to our seethe.

with all due respect, you lost because you missed so many easy shots and made a lot of silly passes when a point was on

I'm not disputing Kerry deserved it. Dublin's game management was poor.

But there were three huge calls, all went Kerry's way. One was unambiguously wrong, one was iffy and we will never know about the goal because the umpire wasn't even watching the game.

Quote from: TyroneTam on July 13, 2026, 11:44:38 AM- Louth red card
- Kerry wrongly awarded 45 v Tyrone
- Kerry penalty v Dublin
- Kerry clear square ball goal
- Dublin non award of goal

Only one of these would be obviously changed in favour of the other team on review. People still can't agree about the Louth red card, the penalty or the Dublin goal and I suspect people will never agree on any of them. The square ball goal is an obvious mistake, the Kerry 45 vs Tyrone would have been changed to a penalty for a blatant foot block.

Player got his jaw broken - no question it was a red surely?

I certainly agree with you but since the poster I quoted thinks it would have benefited from an on field review I suspect he thinks it was harsh. I have seen/heard lots of people stilling arguing the toss on it even after the broken jaw was revealed.

My point being, if we're talking about incidents we're all still arguing about weeks (sometimes years) later, what difference is looking at a TV for 30 seconds at the side of the field going to make? I seriously doubt Brendan Cawley thinks he got the penalty wrong today like.

Baile Brigín 2

Does anyone know what the supervision/review process is? I know every professional soccer game has the referee sat down and given feedback. Does Cawley or his match report get reviewed? Does he learn from his mistakes?

did Cawley actually make ANY mistake??

The 3 big disputed calls
- Penalty? Many people think it was a penalty, many people think it wasn't.  Therefore, it's hard to say he definitely made a mistake on this one.
- Square ball goal - definintely a square ball, but sure it's the umpires that should be watching for this? Obviously cawley should be watching it too and maybe he could have called it, but the first responsibilty is with the umpires here
- 'Ghost goal' - How in the name of all that's holy can the ref be blamed for 'missing' this in real time? With the benefit of replays, still images and 48hours later, it's still not 100%  clear if the ball was over the line or not. You can argue that the umpires should have seen it, but even that is harsh imo. But the ref certainly couldn't call it  from out the field.

I'm no fan of cawleys's but let's be fair to the man too.

There was a softer penalty given against Down on Saturday and nobody mentioned it again. Similar type tackle with less contact - no goal came from it so it was forgot about maybe.

No worse than your average game. In fact much better I'd say.

Penalty only thing I'd have issue with, but then again it's often a line of sight thing.

Who picked the umpires? Whose team is it?

This week's media topic is goal line cameras, Var or whatnot. I accept that there is an element of it being the Dubs, but that shitshow has no place in an AI SF. Not good enough and I am genuinely asking does Croker feed back to him that it wasnt good enough?

Captain Scarlet

I have seen angles showing both Dublin and Kerry 'goals' look over the line and on the line in super slo-mo, so that can be parked a bit.
I think Comerford's reaction didn't help as if him and the players went mad for the square ball it may have worked, but the ball crossing the line eclipsed that call.

Dublin, Small in particular, were so wasteful and even as they were within touching distance a few times took on shots that had zero conviction.

Am I mad to think Mayo could do something here? They have so much more pace all around the field than Dublin and big lads who can move in and around the middle.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.
