As someone stated last week why aren't both tailteann semis curtain raisers to the all ireland semis.

Both games unlikely to get full houses but might be close if supplemented with tailteann cup.

Tailteann cup final could be played Saturday before all ireland final and make weekend of it.

Let's say HQ was to demolish their schedule, and completely clear a weekend of football and hurling purely for a Tailteann semi final double header. Then use their reach to force RTE into televising it. Then use their reach to force RTE into putting a preview show on. And use their reach to force the national papers to generate a week of stories about the games. And use their reach to make Paddy Power to put together a humorous video involving former intercounty players talking it up instead of down.

I think most people would settle for a few extra minutes on the Sunday Game instead of half of a replay of the game that was already on earlier in the day.

That usually is the case.  Normally the Saturday semi i think with the junior all ireland final the sunday curtain raiser does it be?

Saturday 2nd half was the best I've seen Wicklow play in years. I genuinely think that if we move to the next tier and into Sam Maguire, we'll hold our own.

Sat 11th July. Saw 3.30pm throw in somewhere. With AISF at 6pm.

Lads playing with the counties in Tailteann see a Croke Park semi final as a target and rightly so. It also energises supporters along with the TV coverage. If we are more worried about efficient use of grounds than the players.

I can tell you for a fact the interest it generated in a county like mine when we reached semi finals and performed well (which we sure as hell need possibly unlike some of the "blue bloods" who are looking down their noses at it).

We have grounds up and down the country that are for games. Opening them should be a balance sheet decision. We should be putting more games in Croke Park rather than the opposite.

Would Down ones even begrudge Wicklow their day? They'll definitely be well supported by most neutrals. Hard to see a Wicklow win - if Down treat the game with respect. Complacency is an awful hoor tho, very hard to stop it getting in & taking hold in such games.
