Villa v Cheslea on Wednesday night looks like it could tell a lot for the top 5 race.  Villa are completely out on their feet. The replacements for Kamara, Tielemans and McGinn just havent been at the required level.  Plus Watkins looks like he has never played football before. He cant be anywhere near that England WC squad.

If inconsistent Chelsea put any performance in I suspect they will win, heaping further pressure on Villa.

quit yo jibbajabba

Liverpool play United Villa and Chelsea Lurgan, plenty twists and turns yet

Villa have been awful for a number of weeks , with the exception of the win against Newcastle. Chelsea will likely be more similarly set up to Newcastle , then the setups Villa have struggled against recently ; Wolves, Leeds, Brentford, Everton. Emery's narrow tactics don't work very well if the opponents refuse to press.
The winner will likely have 5th nailed down, at the expense of the loser.

Look-Up!

Utd looking very good for 3rd. Great win for Arsenal but long way to go yet. Cup final in 3 weeks will be HUGE for momentum. Then away to City again 3 weeks after that. Title decider game you'd imagine. Gap between them should still be small whoever's in front.

Villa wobbling badly. Liverpool picking up a bit of momentum. Other end Spurs in serious bother, very lucky Forest have a complete spanner as owner. West Ham a further 4 points back which is a significant gap for teams down there struggling to pick up a point a game, but on the other hand it can vanish in an instant if a team hits form and meets opponents already on the beach.

Just on VAR, what an absolute cluster f**k it is. Was supposed to cut out the controversy of officiating but it has increased it multiple fold. Ridiculous red and penalty decision in Utd game. Watched the Bournemouth v Sunderland game and Sunderland had a guy taken out from behind as he was about to pull the trigger. Barged in the back and heels clipped. Defender no where near the ball. Would have been a penalty 50 years ago never mind today. Ref waved play on and VAR didn't intervene. Different rules for different teams. Absolute joke. Turning me off watching games.

Another note that Villa havent even been awarded a single PL penalty this season, despite instances that seem to go favourably for certainly clubs

Not sure there is much point in Villa getting a penalty.
Got one in Europa - Buendia missed it.
Missed 3 in league cup shoot out against Brentford.
Missed how many last year? Asensio 2 in one game against Southampton. Watkins against Celtic. Tielemans against Palace.

Yeah lads in Stockley Park seem to be drinking tay and ateing bikkies with their backs to screens when certain clubs are playing. Then for others they're micro analysing every little incident in the game pulling new rules out of their arse.

Quote from: moonster on March 03, 2026, 10:18:52 PMDo Wolves get the league trophy tonight? Some celebrations by their manager.

He did the same last Friday - and he's dead right to celebrate like that. He needs to have them bouncing going in to next year. The way they were going before he arrived, they were heading for League 1 in 18 months time.

You fear for Brighton against a information Arsenal.  Could be a right hammering later. Brighton Always give Arse nal a walkover.  Going 4-0 Arsenal.

Armagh18

Win tonight would be huge for United with Liverpool having dropped points and Villa playing Chelsea. Never anything easy away to Newcastle though.

statto

The time wasting from Arsenal from 10 minutes in is a bit over the top.

Finished that way a good night for Arsenal.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Another win and clean sheet for Arsenal. City draw. League over

Well take that... Not at the races at all tonight, very tired performance.

Forest with a last gasp clearance to save a point for themselves - Good night indeed for Arsenal
