I wonder how many Limerick players are kicking themselves for having been tripped up by Dublin.

Strangest of games in so many ways.

Poor from Cork all round, players and management on the line.

Poor from the ref in a lot of incidences.

Tipp to be fair showed up big style in the second half and really turned the screw on Cork.

The ref had no bearing on the result, Gordon was fine IMO.

I wonder has a goalie ever scored a point from play in an All-Ireland Final besides yesterday?

I don't think he had an overall massive impact on the game but he was far from fine IMO.

JMcG had two loose slaps, one cork defender wrist and one on the goalie, exactly the same slap got a yellow for Daragh McCarthy and resulted in him being sent off in the semi. (more lack of consistency week to week)

Missed a blatant push on the cork full back which he then followed up by missing the wrap of the cork defenders arm and pulling him down over him. Never a penalty.

In fairness, very hard for a referee to see that.

9 times out of 10, they'll give the penalty.

The key thing is we, as tv viewers etc., have the benefit of seeing it from 3 or 4 different angles and slow mo etc.

Only thing here is if management could have 2 calls in a game (Croke Park) for referee to review the decision a là rugby but I don't think that'll happen.

Yeah I'm not saying it was easy, but these are big calls. I think it was MD who called it in the commentary live even before he gave the penalty for the push.

But there's no excuse for the two loose slaps, one week identical foul is a yellow and next week not even a tick. Just strange. I'm not looking for red cards for these by the way, I'm looking at the consistency of the whole thing.

To lose a second final two years in a row will be an especially tough one for Cork to swallow. Fair play to Tipp, they completely nullified Cork in every department the second half.

That second half will haunt those Cork lads for years to come

Armagh18

I see Cork aren't having a homecoming.

They'll be in a low low place today

They nullified the inside men well throughout.  Ronan Maher was excellent on Hayes.

Blowitupref

All-Ireland winners the last ten years. Not just another decade without a Cork win but have also gone a decade without Kilkenny winning.

Limerick 5
Tipperary 3
Galway 1
Clare 1

Anyone want to guess 2026 to 2035 should be more spread around with no dominant Limerick around?
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Not referee union but if he sees them at the time he'll call it, looking at two different games you'll get different angles and interpretations

By in large from a neutral view there wasn't much wrong, square ball was a decent call, the red card decision, definitely needed to be on point, and some help from a 'video ref' might be a thing going forward, use the time to walk into the umpires and discuss, while at the same time get another opinion from someone watching the replays.
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

In hindsight, how were Cork were so overwhelming favourites?

Drew with Clare after being 12 points up and ref was generous giving them extra time for an equaliser.
Drew with and got trashed by Limerick.
Struggled for large parts of the Waterford game.
Trashed a 14 man Tipp team who still managed 0-24 against them.

They really got ahead of themselves with the hype!
That's Cork for you though.
