Surprised no thread on this already.

Was in Ballybofey last night.
Tyrone fans totally outnumbered again. Disgraceful how few of us are going to games now.
Hopefully this big win will kick start all ye fans back out to support the senior teams.

Ulster Minor final on today in Enniskillen and then All Ireland U20 Final this Wed where Louth will bring a huge crowd.

Jimmy McGuinness didn't look to happy last night when he barely shook hands with Malachy O'Rourke and didn't do the post match interview.

Michael Murphy and Langan had huge games and must be wondering how they lost that game.

How did you neutrals see the game last night?

Tyrone came within a point of Armagh, and have now beaten Donegal to become as likely to win Sam as anyone. What do their fans need to turn out?

Very impressed with how Tyrone started and finished the match last night. Thought they looked dead on their feet with 15 to go but they found another gear. I thought the looked quite intelligent in their play too with the correct option being taken more often than not. Their tackling was notable too and they seemed to create a lot more turnovers in the tackle than other counties I've seen this year.

Any of 6/7 teams could win Sam this year I feel. The gulf is the lowest I can remember in many years and the new rules can have such a big impact on matches that I think it's going to come down to some combination of luck with the bounce of the ball, luck with injuries and luck with refereeing decisions.

Jimmy is all smiles and gracious when winning, not so much when he loses.

The Trap

Donegal have had a tough run with 4 games in Ulster and extra time in final. It has started to show and they don't really have time to recover.

Langan and Murphy played well and McBrearty hit a good 2 pointer as well but without the 2 pointers they didn't score a lot. They will need everyone on board for the Cavan game.

Tyrone may be timing their run well. Hampsey and Kennedy will hopefully recover and continue the upward trend against Mayo. As usual they may be a dangerous opponent especially if they play for McStay next week who took unwell yesterday.

Still Tyrone were defensively sound and there is room for improvement up front with McCurry still leading the way.

Topping the group would be a big plus.

What was Jimmy  irked at in particular?

Any  controversial refereeing decisions or  just annoyed at his team?

Top county manager is not all smiles after losing... wow! Why should he be?
He shook hands with O'Rourke after the game. McGee did the post-match interview. Nothing to see here.

I assume he was annoyed at his team. No way can be he annoyed at the ref. Few calls went his way including kierarn being taken out of it in first half and mckerarn being pushed in the face by paddy when he was on the ground. No cards given for either. Somehow, the 2 collisions led to donegal frees as well.

inroundthesquare

McGuinness did give off about the ref in his post match interview on Highland. Also said Donegal didn't turn up.
Was annoyed at the Canavan free and Donegal not getting a free over near the tunnel in the last few minutes
Ref got both correct, was a clear dive by Thompson as him and Kilpatrick were running for the loose ball.

J70

I only read what MvGuinness said (or maybe the article only had some of it). He said Donegal did not show up, that they should've won after McBrearty's score, and that Tyrone deserved it. Seemed annoyed, but only at his own team.

bennydorano

Thought Donegal and Armagh both looked a bit heavy legged, but there's no time to deal with such things in the current schedule. Winning a group and getting an extra week's rest could be crucial for these pair in particular.

J70

Can't see us winning our group now. Cavan shit the bed at the sight of the Tyrone jersey, and I'd expect Tyrone to go on and beat Mayo too.

He is turning into a bit of a yap if he giving out about the ref in that game. Fairly clean game and donegal definitely were lucky to get away without a few cards.

Wildweasel74

Bite late starting one now after the game.

So what exactly did McGuinness say?
