Kildare generally flatter to deceive 5/4 looks short to me.  Sligo moving the right way may be the value here.

Jesus I dunno why Kildare are so short. Being from Kildare we tell ourselves we have good players, but good or even middlin' players can string two good games back to back and we simply don't.
Our fitness was a joke the past while and we have some of the most brain dead players around. I keep saying that we have lads who have played for years making the same mistakes since minor.

How are the others doing. Clare might be in transition, Fermanagh very solid and beat us last year easily.

Sligo were up and coming but had their wings clipped in the Tailteann Cup, albeit by a Down team that went up. They look the best value.

If Kildare can get their act together they should be pushing for promotion. I understand Clare have a few lads back and seem to have been going well in challenge games.

Offaly with Harte involved may be looking to push on and Sligo on the up will probably be looking for a finish in the top half.

Leitrim & Laois down a few bodies and probably looking most likely for the drop? Any info on Armagh / Fermanagh challenge games?

Fermanagh be solid enough, think your man McGurn is back fit for them who missed a fair bit last year with injury. Clare are getting a good few lads back who had been missing last year I think I heard mentioned on a podcast. Think Aaron Kernan will be a good addition to the Sligo backroom team and they'll have a good campaign as well.

Laois made some great strides under McNulty last year. Unfortunately, down a couple of key players through injury and travel for 2025. Squad is limited and division three is realistically our standard. However, McNulty has shown that he can get teams very organised and if they can adapt to the new rules quicker than other teams they might claim a notable scalp or two. Lot of focus on Clare and Sligo as possibly the two teams with most momentum and confidence starting out this league campaign. I'm not sure of Kildare-they were so poor last year and newer players brought into panel will need time. It is not an overnight rebuild job there. Might need a second year to escape the division.

Should have been a big inquiry as to how and why Kildare allowed themselves to fall down to Div 3 and with a team filled with U20 All Ireland winners they have no excuse not to finish in the top two of Div 3.

Sligo are a county on the rise will be interesting to see can they take another step this year, I think it's 2011 since they played in Div 2  and if they get up should be in a better place to be competitive in that division.  Clare after spending a number of years in Div 2 and getting key players back should push strongly for promotion also.

I would be surprised if Sligo didn't get promoted. Moreso than anyone there really.

I would hope they've got the odds wrong with antrim but nothing to suggest otherwise currently unfortunately. You'd have to imagine there's some bounce with Harte in Offaly.

Kildare have published their panel for the year ahead, something a lot of other counties should do?




Panel includes  11 of their 2023 U20 All Ireland winners.

Fermanagh played Monaghan today in a friendly under lights in Tempo.
Monaghan won by 4 I think.
At times Fermanagh were very open and we didn't look great going forward .
We are struggling in midfield.

Fermanagh have Kildare away first and Antrim at home after that.

I have a feeling if we don't get 2 points from one of those games it could be a hard slog.

A lot of the 2022, 2023 U20 teams are in with Kildare, plus the earlier U20 winners.
A few older heads are there but to be honest the U20 lads tended to make far less silly mistakes than the 'experienced' players.

It's hard to know and the new rules are another bit of fun thrown in there.
