Wouldn't let him look after the reserves..

In all honesty I'd take Martin O'Neil lol
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

It was never going to end well giving that interview.  Things are better said behind closed doors, but perhaps he knew it was coming soon and got his piece out before he got fired.

A stubbornness to change and adapt was his biggest flaw.  Although I agree with him that changing his highly touted formation due to external pressure would have looked weak, it ultimately led to underwhelming results and cost him his job.

Expectation at Man Utd always makes this a difficult job.  They are miles off top 4 consistency despite what fans think.

Whoever take the reigns full time next, needs to out and out say we are aiming to finsh 1/2 positions higher than last season, and maintain that goal each year.

They are nowhere near top 4, and any declaration of top 4 intent is putting a rod on your back.
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

I expected them to be around top 4 this year, signed a few decent forward players through the summer.  The big advantage they have this year is that they have no European football compared to others around them.

Liverpool and Chelsea have both disappointed this year and United have dropped alot of points they shouldn't have recently, Wolves, West Ham, Everton with 10 men, Bournemouth at home. The AFCON has also hit them hard, particularly in forward positions.

They were top 4 or thereabouts mostly until Ten Hag's second season were they not?

Didn't he offer to walk away for nothing a while back? Wonder if they owe him anything/how much.

Onthe40

jez look at the team yesterday

lammers - jury out but looks workable
shaw - done
heavenly - a kid
dorku - raw, has potential , suddenly finds himself a main man in the team
Martinez - if can stay fit, good player
casimeiro - done
dalot - crap, inconsistent
ugarte - crap
Sesko - what a waste of money
yoro - inconsistent & unreliable
cunha - one bit of quality & now main man (with Bruno out)
Sirske - waste of money out

there's 4 players you prob keep out of that
Amorim deserves a medal having Utd sitting 5th with that bunch

Yeah he did. Reading that statement it was United made the call not him so you'd imagine theres something to pay. Although I did read that after the year mark the payout went down.

Sesko similar to Hojlund in that theres probably a player there but being asked to be the main man at United with no back up at this atage of his career is madness. Even if they'd kept Hojlund and let the 2 of them compete to start it would be better than this. Someone like Welbeck to take the pressure off would be ideal.

Lammens- probably done fairly well considering he's a cub himself and the shitshow he's been dropped into. Although anything was better than the clowns before him. Shaw, Dalot, Casemiro need gone in the summer. (Casemiro does give you something but the legs aren't there anymore)

The Keeper has certainly been an upgrade.

Casemiro not the player he was, I think he has been ok this season the lack of legs around him hasn't helped and having to play as a two in midfield the Amorims preferred formation.  Ugarte has been hugely disappointing.

Cunny Funt

The entire Amorim process reflects poorly on the people running the club and all highlights Man United remain one of the worst ran clubs around.

Journalists claiming it's what he said in the press conferences that eventually got him sacked. The pre Leeds conference he looked depressed as basically told Journalists no new players would be brought in during the January window.  That tells me Jim and Co had lost trust in him and didn't want to make anymore signings under his watch when they were certainly needed especially with the long list of players currently out.

Yesterday after the match he was ranting about how he was the manager than the coach. While the Man United statement today has him down as head coach.

Leaving the team level on points with 5th and 3 points off 4th reflects the lack of quality of the Premier League. Probably would have finished the season on about 60 points and outside the top 4/5 will his replacement do any better?

His win percentage was 38% overall and 33% in the Premier League and that was simply unacceptable for a Man United manager as was getting knocked out of the League cup by Grimsby and losing and not scoring against such a poor Spurs team in the Europa league final last season

But the thing is they ARE, at least this season. Liverpool are in the midst of a difficult transition with no certainty as to how it will turn out, Newcastle have fallen back, don't know what the hell is going on at Chelsea, Spurs are very poor. Low 60s in points will probably get those fourth and (presumably) fifth CL spots this year with no one showing any shape of putting a five game winning streak together.

How long has Ugarte been there? He has  had such an impact, I couldn't even tell you what he looks like.  Honestly, don't  know if he's black or white.

Sesko was another  one destined to be a flop.

They have been buying crap for years. Unfortunately they are not the draw for big names that they once were and have a tendency to attract players who almost as soon as they sign or get their improved contract then stop playing. The scouting has been appalling. Even the goalie who has done ok is a complete unknown yet they paid around £20million compared to say Kelleher who did so well for Liverpool goes to Brentford for £12million
