Any immigrant who commits a crime (maybe be more specific?) should have all their rights taken away? Human rights? Civil rights? What about if they're an Irish citizen?

If they are an Irish citizen, they shouldn't be regarded as an immigrant.

If they are not an Irish citizen and they commit crimes in Ireland. They should be sent back to whatever country they came from.

Why not? Very easy to be both.

So commit any crime and pack them off home? Steal a loaf of bread to feed a starving family etc and it's "sorry, that's it. Off you go"

But Deco from the Dominick Street flats who steals cars and deals drugs for years can stay? Can we not just f**k him into the sea or something?

Absurd to want to welcome every ne'er do well, keep 'em, feed 'em, and wash 'em at our own expense.

On the other hand, our own ne're do wells we have to take responsibility for, like 'em or lump 'em.

It's a bit like, say - my brother or sister marries a good friend of mine, someone I get on with more than my sibling, perhaps, but after a while it all goes awry, and turns nasty. Do I side with the errant in-law friend, or my own sibling?

Why is it absurd?
An Irish man committing a crime here can't be sent 'back' because he's an Irish citizen who was born and reared here.

An immigrant who comes here and contributes nothing to our society, and actually commits crimes, so is a negative to our society and a potential danger, is a different story.
I see it as quite reasonable to say you're not welcome here, you need to leave.
