Yes matthew featured regularly during league campaign 2023 under gallagher. I remember him starting against Cork and he definitely made a good few substitute appearances. Also came on against dublin in that league final

Downeys, JD, S Kearney etc. ?

Derry's social media poor enough. Wouldn't even know there was a game this weekend, never mind produce a squad of some sort.

Be nice to have some idea of who we're going to see line out.

I assume we need to send a panel in for any competition we enter. If that's the case I can't see any reason why a panel for the McKenna cup, league and championship can't be posted to help garner a bit of interest.

To be fair match day panels were posted for the club championship and I remember the minor and u20 panels were made available earlier this year. Here's hoping something comes out in the next few days.

Glass got married this week so I doubt he's out, Slaughtneil lads probably not. I'd say the starting 15 will be as strong as possible, the usuals and whoever has stood up in closed games

Does anyone know if the downeys have been playing much for St Brigids? I dont follow antrim too closely but anytime i seen a team only shea was named

2 of them were playing, Enda,Matthew, etc didnt seem to be playing in the championship past year, not sure if they injured etc

Didn't know GAA turned professional, we are actually still amateur! What's the issue, can you share a link to where the other 31 counties 2026 squad lists are? Squads are generally only finalised before the league starts. I actually love the fact we are a closed book with little to no leaks which shows a sign of a very tight group. Meenagh done an interview in the Derry Journal today and Heron and Glass spoke to the press at the McKenna cup launch if you're after some insights.

Absolutely delighted we're getting no information, thats how it should be. Close-knit camp nothing getting out and all going about there business.

What information do you want really? We'll find out tomorrow who is on Mc Kenna cup team for Sunday and I fully expect to be a different team Wednesday and then closer to the actual thing on 24th Jan.

Starters for Sunday I would expect - Mc Closkey, Baker, Mc Evoy, McKinless, Dan Higgins, Loughlin, Toner, Ethan, Paul Cass.
After that mixture of new players and Youth.

McEvoy and Higgins have Sigerson Tuesday/Wednesday could be a short run if anything for the pair of them and nothing during the week

Here we can see the whole Mckenna panel for Monaghan in the papers. Us not naming a panel didnt really help much the past 2 yrs did it!! If we learned from previous McKenna outings we were alway too near full strength, and need to try a number of players to strengthen the panel like Armagh done past 3/4 yrs.

Declan Bogue has just tonight revealed that Rian O'Neill is not in the Armagh 2026 panel and Peter Harte isn't in the Tyrone 2026 panel only because he quizzed the management teams after the first round McKenna cup match not because Armagh or Tyrone had squad lists in the Irish News. Do Kerry, the Dubs, Galway have squads released?

What we did have in last two years was a circus around managers and then once appointed they were doing interviews with every newspaper, podcast whoever else asked.
There's no duty to entertain the media or give people so small talk incentives. We'll talk about our first outing on Sunday evening.
